Dead State is a compelling, high-tension survival RPG set in central Texas at the collapse of civilization and the dawn of the undead apocalypse.
As society is beginning to fall apart, the player must organize a group of survivors together, fortify a shelter, scout for food and supplies, negotiate with or defend against other factions, and maintain order inside the shelter as humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. Dead State is a full-fledged RPG featuring base building and management, turn-based tactical combat, and reactive story and dialogue with an emphasis on survival at any cost.

Dead State: Reanimated is a turn-based survival RPG that approaches the zombie apocalypse with an emphasis on strategy, resource management, and the human cost of survival rather than relentless action. Developed by DoubleBear Productions in collaboration with Iron Tower Studio and published by DoubleBear Productions, the game casts players as the leader of a group of survivors seeking refuge in an abandoned school in rural Texas. From this modest sanctuary, every decision shapes the future of the community, whether it involves organizing dangerous scavenging expeditions, expanding the shelter's capabilities, or resolving conflicts among people struggling to endure the collapse of civilization. The Reanimated edition enhances the original release with improved mechanics, additional content, refined combat systems, and numerous gameplay improvements that create a smoother and more rewarding experience. I love this game. It just makes me so happy. For fans of tactical games and of narrative heavy RPGS it's a no brainer. The only issue is that the game is now so old it has issues playing on newer versions of windows. But if you can get it to play it's a joy!
KEEP ON CRASHING!!!!!!
Pumped my character for melee and I can't even clear the first map. I'll have a zombie surrounded by three characters who all just keep missing, meanwhile the zombie is knocking out a 1/3 of my health every turn. RNG is busted or something. Bad experience, more frustrating than fun.
Good but drags a bit.
