About Perimeter: Emperor's Testament
But the end of the hard tests is not in sight, and finally due to the despotism of Spirits and the underground intrigues Exodus went to pieces. New factions have arisen - the Empire and the Harkback. Each faction had their own goals and philosophy. The Harkbacks believed that the old Earth has not died, and the Empire - the most mysterious faction - believed that humans should stay in the Chain of Worlds. The antagonism boiled into a war that has been going on for many decades in many worlds.
Whereas the Spirits are on the way to their destination and the Harkbacks are seeking the mythical Earth, the Emperor builds up his Sponge Empire using automatic bases - his Vice Frames. He does not believe in the old or in the new Earth.
Secretly the Emperor creates the Mechanical Spirit - a super mechanism to help him discover new Worlds. Only the Emperor's mortal foes the Spirits could discover new worlds, and that was the source of their power. But now the new time has come.
One of the Vice frames starts testing this mechanism, it leads to the appearance of a super mind - Mechanical Messiah and the discovery of the parallel Chain of the Psycho-sphere Worlds. We also meet the "lost" Exodus Frames and find traces of the mysterious alien race. The three sides are in the middle of the deadly battle: the Scourge against the Emperor's Slaves, Lash of the Spirits against the Calling of Messiah, a dead truth against a newborn lie.
Who are the Spirits - savers or killers of the human race? Who is Messiah judge or a puppet? Who is the Emperor? Who will win? The player will find out the answer during the spectacular single player campaign in Perimeter: Emperor's Testament.
"I feel hungry tension of the highest spheres. Flesh and blood of the Sponge have been set in motion; they are pulsating around the world in which the Emperor is creating a new history of the great Chain."

tts of the text https://youtu.be/WBOt8pgFDDo К-Д ЛАБ was making new and original games one after another. But it seems once the publisher (or the other, or both) offered them to make an add-on instead of a new game, half the team including the lead started an exodus. Harkback never made another good game ever, and neither did the lead with the exodus team. This is an add-on to Perimetr, so the core gameplay is still good. But you can see that without KranK even an add-on is not on par with the original. Because it's kinda a budget release. There are no new cutscenes, only bits and pieces of the old ones with cheap filtres. Story-wise it's a more focused experience following the Mechanical Messiah, so it's not as confusing. And is not as psychospheric, it doesn't even involve the player in its storytelling. The emperor has a new actor despite the story starting somewhere in the middle of the original storyline. I really don't like the insinuation that crispo were made by Mechanical Messiah, and therefore by humans. Instead of real aliens it's now a very small world and it's a predestination preqel once again. Also there's often no logic in do X but not Y tasks. Gameplay options a…1 found this helpful
Perimeter: Emperor's Testament, developed by K-D Lab and published by Fulqrum Publishing, is a standalone expansion to the cult-classic RTS Perimeter, building upon one of the most unconventional real-time strategy foundations of the early 2000s. Rather than following the traditional formula of resource gathering, base spamming, and mass unit production, it refines and extends a system centered around energy networks, terrain manipulation, and perimeter defense. The result is a strategic experience that feels more like a territorial engineering puzzle layered over large-scale warfare than a standard RTS skirmish. The defining mechanic of Emperor’s Testament is its terraforming system. Instead of harvesting multiple resource types, players rely on a single resource—energy—which is generated and distributed through a network spread across flattened terrain. Terrain cannot simply be built upon; it must first be leveled using specialized units, and this reshaping process becomes a critical tactical element. Expanding territory is not just about claiming space, but about carefully planning how that space will sustain your energy grid. Because every building and defensive perimeter draw…
Play original permieter instead. Maybe play the remaster, idk i haven't tried that. I'd say this would've been a fine expansion if it didn't cut content that was in the first game, as there is no Harkback faction in this game due to addition of new lab and units. Scourge is underutilized in the campaign, could say it's entirely cut from the game too. But as it stands, it's pretty bad. Story: it derails into a random mess that makes little sense very fast. It feels too detached from the original story, even if it supposedly expands on events post Perimeter 1. There's too many things that just appear out of the blue and you don't really get any proper set up or explaination of it. Also those are things you would've heard about in the first game if they actually were inteded and not made up on the spot in this expansion Campaign design: also super lacking, most missions feel short and trivial. Imagine any campaign level from the original game and instead of having an engaging multi-objective level, the level abruptly ends after you complete the first task. The rest of the missions are annoyingly unfavourable to you, where if the AI wasn't so dumb you'd not h…
