About Mission Control: NanoMech

Mission Control: NanoMech is set late in the 21st century and puts players in a high-tech base on the surface of Mars, where they step into the role of a rover pilot delivering supplies. A rogue artificial intelligence named D-brain has taken control of the factory and most of its robotic workers and refuses to let the humans go. With the threat of a massive Mars dust storm cutting off communications to the rest of the Mars bases, it's up to the player to save the other humans trapped inside the factory.

Luckily, several friendly robots are on hand to help the player fight back. The robots gift the player with a spacesuit and teach the player how it can be improved with nanotechnology. As the game progresses, the player is helped further by scientists hiding inside the factory who leave clues and information that help the player understand and use the nanomaterials in optimal ways to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Players must master this improvement process as it is directly linked to the progressive difficulty in the game. Presented with puzzle challenges, the player must race against the clock to keep their robotic team members functioning while searching for more raw materials and the hidden scientists in order to get strong enough to confront D-brain directly.

Mission Control: NanoMech was developed under a grant from the National Science Foundation (Grant #0823411) and developed in collaboration with NASA through a Space Act Agreement. This action-adventure game is based on real nanotechnology content, which was reviewed by experts for accuracy. Spacesuit components and technologies are based on authentic future technologies being researched and developed by NASA and others.

Abandoned early access from 2014. Incomplete and super rough.

I enjoyed the educative introduction but after that the gameplay is really poor. I would not recommend to buy this game

You may think this is a very poor/weak tablet or console port, because there's no HD support or no widescreen support despite the game being released in 2014. You'd be wrong. This is a 2014 PC exclusive with no widescreen support. So you can go fullscreen but with distorted aspect ratios - also, no option for 1080p, let alone UHD/4K. Gameplay is equally terrible - clicking around with the mouse at various enemies for no real reason or enjoyment. Weak gameplay, terrible graphics, no support for modern PCs despite being a "modern" game. The people at Unity have a lot to answer for. Regardless, they want $9 for this - I would gladly pay $9 to never have to play it.

Tags: Hack & Slash - Diabloesque Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Eternal Early Access. Instance based with loads of fluff text. Core gameplay needed to get worked on more for this to be worth your attention. Some quality design choices marred by quality assurance issues and lack of ease of use functionalities, along with a limited engine, a limited amount of content, all ensure that this title will age badly and end up forgotten by all I will divide my impressions in two halves. In the first half lets examine the gameplay and options. With no resolution choices, no way to full screen in the options, underpar textures and lack of scenery detail, no way to reset progress without uninstalling and reinstalling the game, no tooltips when mousing over abilties, no way to know what the suit modules do without being actively upgrading them all contribute to making this game a hassle to play. In my case it led to me to a dead end where my suit was fully upgraded in one manner, and I was unable to beat a level because I could not figure out what to downgrade due to lack of information. Up until that point the difficulty was fairly low and I was able to br…

Overwhelming and boring. It's like I'm back in school.
