A fun Puzzle game, It really is a shame VR didn't take off

## Review: The Mage's Tale VR Score: 6/10 (Would be an 8/10 without the technical and control issues) ## The Verdict The Mage's Tale delivers strong visual appeal and solid VR combat mechanics, but it is severely held back by frustrating control issues, poor Meta Quest 2 optimization, and progression-blocking bugs. ------------------------------ ## Technical & Performance Issues (The Bad)## Quest 2 Instability & Tracking Flaws * Frequent Crashes: The game constantly closes itself when playing on Meta Quest 2. * Broken Steam Integration: Playtime is not recorded, and Steam achievements fail to unlock entirely. * Progress Loss: Constant crashes lead to lost progress due to the lack of proper background tracking. ## Game-Breaking Control Mapping * Terrible Key Binding: The default controller mapping makes deploying your shield a nightmare. * Unresponsive Inputs: You must press the directional stick slightly downward to activate the shield, which fails to register half the time. * Physical Discomfort: Because the shield is mandatory for survival, holding down this awkward input causes actual hand fatigue and finger numbness. ## Softlocks & Repetitive Design * Progress-Blocking Bug…

It was one of the very few VR games that I really liked and still remember even after a quite few years had passed. I played it on Rift S around the time it came out. It was great. Haven't tried playing on other hardware later though so can't say anything about that.

I love the music and the art. Pretty fun game. But whatever you do, dont use VIVE to play it. I uninstalled that years ago and it keeps trying to open itself randomly and it crashes my computer when it cant find the files. What is the point of uninstalling when it leaves files around that act on their own! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! Dont Vive!
