✦ AI summary

Players praise Ginga Force as an excellent bullet hell with strong visual presentation that blends 3D and 2D gameplay, great weapon variety, engaging music, and good value for the price. However, they consistently note the game is brutally difficult with demanding level-based missions, visibility issues between bullets and background, and some frustration with story delivery that requires reading while managing intense bullet patterns.

This game is BRUTAL. I respect it. I'm a beginner shmup player, I've 1CC'd a good number of shmups at this point on the easier end of things - probably the hardest I've done is Mushihimesama on normal difficulty, so that's my level. I'm not a complete newbie, but I'm not great, either. I died on the first mission of this game, initially. After clearing the first mission, you can choose from four missions, and they are MEAN. Playing mission 2, I thought "oh, they deliberately placed a hard mission here to show me that I can challenge them in any order! That's cool!" They did not. Each mission is exacting. This is less of an arcade shmup and more of a level-based shmup, where the primary challenge is just to beat the levels individually. It's clearly danmaku inspired, but it isn't exactly that. You have a shield mechanic, where you can negate bullets in exchange for the shield meter, so it isn't always about dodging the dense bullet patterns. I think the player hitbox is larger than a danmaku game, necessitating the shield (though there is a cool effect when you are grazing!). The power of the main and sub weapons are both tied to separate meters, which you recoup by picking up drop…

Great Smup Arcade shooter. Japanese Team, nice 3D Design, Good anime dub and typical Arcadish Music. Pretty good but the original price for 19,99 is a bit high. Wait for a sale. You will pay waaay less and then it´s a great deal.

really high quality. tons of customization for every part of the ship, full story, and the levels look amazing. only fault is the voices are only in Japanese, so if you want to read the story you have to pause each time someone talks, because they talk while you are dodging a barrage of bullets. this game, and Eschatos are must play SHMUPs by Qute

This is my first level-based shmup where the objective is to finish separate levels rather than facing a gauntlet from start to finish. I have cleared the game on easy/ normal and overall this game is surprisingly really difficult. In the beginning, I got annoyed by two things: The visibility between the background and the bullets causing me to spend a long time adjusting to the game. Also, the lack of an official English dub, which is horrendous considering that we have to focus on the bazillion bullets on screen while also reading the dialogue and story in the top corner of the HUD. However, you will repeat the episodes a lot and that will make the story somewhat clear through the bits and pieces you'll get along the way. Now one of the best things in this game is the weapon variety and customization where you can choose a main, side and a special weapon to take with you throughout the chapters. Hands down, my favorite weapons were the time-slow special weapon and the homing bullets for the side weapon. The game seriously gets better the more that you play and the challenge ramps up heavily. The last two chapters were tough as nails but they were the best moments in this game…
