The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Nearly an hour in and the story hasn't started to build even remotely, not even tension for whatever happens soon to kick off the plot. Characters are forgettable and uninteresting, the dialogue is boring woke crap (seriously name another game besides TLOU2 that throws out "fascist" and "bigot" in the first 30 minutes) and it all feels forced. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't get me started on how unbearable the voice acting is. I wonder how hard they had to search to find someone who can't pronounce their R's AND also somehow sounds like a person with a spanish accent doing an impression of someone doing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spanish accent. What the ♥♥♥♥ lol

Cringe writing, awful voice acting, poor animation/ use of UE... I paid £1.69 during a sale and even at this price it was too much. Genuinely a waste of time "game" and story. please DONT RUIN WOLF AMONG US 2

I’ve never watched the show, but playing this game actually made me want to. I’m a game collector, and the more I played The Expanse, the more I appreciated how well Telltale writes stories based on source material. It really shows here. The game can be a little slow at points — not because of graphics, but because of pacing and how fast the character moves. Trying to keep certain people alive is tough, but when deaths aren’t a game over, they add to the story and make things more interesting. Telltale has always been amazing at story and sometimes a little lacking in gameplay, but honestly? This is another example of why we need more games like this.

im mixed on this one and its only because of the price, the story is really good, your decisions matter, and overall gameplay is good. my issue is with the full and that it only has 6 episodes that can be done in 45 mins. if im spend 30 USD on a game i expect a casual playthrough to last 8 hours not half that. get while on sale.

Decided to play this one due to Deck Nine's involvement. I didn't find it very compelling and I would've benefitted from having some pre-existing investment in the universe. There were some good moments, but I just don't think it's particularly interesting. There's a DLC episode I haven't played, and I'm not opposed to returning to play it if it goes on sale.

Decent, but far from Telltale at its best Overall, The Expanse: A Telltale Series didn't convince me nearly as much as some of Telltale's other games, especially the excellent Batman titles. Neither the choices and their consequences nor the story itself really impressed me. The plot often feels rather contrived, particularly when it comes to finding reasons for the characters to visit certain locations. A secret base supposedly nobody knows about somehow becoming a rendezvous point is one example that had me scratching my head. That said, the locations themselves are varied and exploring them can be enjoyable. Unfortunately, the story as a whole feels fairly inconsequential to the wider Expanse universe. I'm also not entirely convinced by Drummer's backstory, particularly the fallout with her former boss. The portrayal of Dawes didn't really match the impression I had of him from the series, and it felt somewhat forced to me. The Archangel DLC was probably the weakest part. I simply found it boring.
