New Tales from the Borderlands is a game I simply cannot recommend. I've rarely been this bored playing a game. In fact, the only experience I can think of that comes close was spending dozens of hours playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla. From start to finish, I found myself struggling to stay interested. As for the story, which should be the main attraction in a narrative-driven game, I honestly don't have much positive to say. The characters failed to grab my attention, the writing didn't land for me, and the overall plot felt uninspired. Instead of being invested in what was happening, I was mostly waiting for it to end. That said, I did like the assassin robot. He was easily the highlight of the game for me and provided the few moments that I genuinely enjoyed. Unfortunately, one entertaining character wasn't enough to save the overall experience. The humor, charm, and memorable moments that made previous Borderlands stories enjoyable just weren't there for me. What should have been an engaging adventure ended up feeling like a chore. Overall, I found New Tales from the Borderlands dull, unfunny, and forgettable. Aside from the assassin robot, there was very little that kept…1 found this helpful
As a big Borderlands fan I have tried to play this several times, but I just can't. It's truly one of the worst games I've ever played.
I understand why people dont like this game. However playing this many years later and after replaying the 1st game... Its not the worst game ive played. I enjoyed alot of the jokes in this game. not all of them but alot more than i thought. I dont under stand how this game failed. They had a lot of great characters and this nothing with them. Get on sale otherwise i can see why its bottom tier Telltale even though its "newer"
♥♥♥♥ game
It's not an amazing game, it does lack in gameplay even for this format, but it definitely does not deserve all these negative reviews. The story is okay, even interesting, characters are quirky and fun, and while not all jokes land for me, I've enjoyed plenty of them. Wouldn't buy at full price, but discounted, or as part of Pandora's Box, worth it. In summary, relatively funny and interesting, not deserving of the hate it gets.
If you value your time and sanity, do NOT play this game, even if you got it for free or in Pandora's Box. ESPECIALLY if you got it in Pandora's Box. Just play the other games, they're MUCH better.
