Super Mombo Quest

Pretty 2d good platformer with nice movement. It's categorized as a metroidvania, but it's just individual challenge levels connected in sort of a world. You can do some out of order if you want, which can change how to tackle levels if you have certain abilities or not. It also has parts you can't get past until you have an ability, but mostly it's limited to stuff in the same world you get the ability. Anyway, it's short and sweet. Nice movement, a few levels that were actually a bit challenging, and a cute story/style. The red mombo is especially fun to control. Worth it for sure.

? forces you to repeat the level a lot to perfect it (gaining stars by collecting all the jewels and killing enemies on a a timer) so you can't simply just "go fast" ✘ going back to last checkpoint many levels back and losing jewels after losingy your lives - this is an [i]absurd[/i] level of disrespect of my time from a seemingly fast-paced platformer

Estou prestes a zerar o jogo, mas estou colocando meu review enquanto estou na última etapa da última fase. Só digo o seguinte: quem desenhou essa etapa NÃO gosta de seus jogadores, de seu público. Fazer repetir dezenas de vezes sem checkpoint (tendo que re-jogar boa parte para chegar lá de novo depois de algumas mortes) é o cúmulo do péssimo level-design e, basicamente, ódio aos jogadores).

Super Mombo Quest takes the familiar foundations of a 2D platformer and gives them an energetic arcade personality, creating an adventure that rewards both exploration and mechanical mastery. Once the mechanics become familiar, navigating an area can develop an almost rhythmic quality as jumps, attacks, enemy encounters, and environmental hazards are connected into a continuous sequence.
