Jubilee is a precision platformer with 9 locations connected similar to metroidvania games. However, there are no power ups or new skills to unlock. You have to get it done with what you start with, but I didn't feel like something was missing. The levels were designed so well, they were creative and challenging enough on their own. You can also go to any direction you want, it's truly open with no specific order. You can easily teleport to other parts of the map if a certain section proves to be too challenging. The focus of the game is all about having enough skills to get all the collectibles. The game goes out of its way to have a very comprehensive tracking system of the collectibles so you know exactly how many there are in each location and what you have left. You also get subtle hints to know where the rarer ones are, the challenge is in getting there. The graphics have lots of charm to them, reminiscent of super Nintendo games, jrpg in particular. It's a very focused game that's made perfectly in terms of design, scope, offering enough variety and ending at the right time. It's so addictive, that I ended up getting 100% on the same day. That said, the game is not for the…

I don't usually write reviews (I honestly should do more) BUT this game I need to. I 100% the game on Steamdeck so for those that are curious YES you can play this on a Steamdeck or a Linux OS using Proton. I was pleasantly surprised on how good this game was. We need more like this. Its like a harder Astro Bot that decided to be a (in terms of difficulty) a souls like. But It's never unfair. The checkpoint system is what keeping this game from turning unfair. It enough to not be too easy but to also not be frustrating. Similar to Clustertruck. Trying to do no abilities on Clustertruck is FUN due to the fact that its by a level system and the level's only take up to 5 min max. There is enough distance between each section that balances the frustration so its not overbearing. To me there does get a point were if something is TOO difficult its no longer fun for me. I did not get that feeling what so ever for this game. For someone who grew up playing and finishing both Crash Bandacoot on GBA there are some sections that are harder here than those games. There is also some places in the game that can be annoying to deal with. Overall a great challenge for those that love Platforming o…

this game is extremely good, THE definition of hidden gem, the controls are very tight and the level design is top notch, there's always something fresh. I only wish the game had more to offer

Jubilee is a fun and challenging 2D platformer. With two basic moves, jump and a short hover, it's very easy to pick up. You will die a lot, but the checkpoints are generally well-placed and the refresh time is so short that there's very little friction to try a section 15-20 times before you clear it. If you're a 100% kind of person, you might hate this game, but I was happy clearing both endings and finding almost all the animals. Works very well on Steamdeck. My only slight issue is sometimes I wished there was more variety of background music.

We have Celeste at home, but in a good way. Relatively short game. Had fun from start to finish. Worth the cost of entry.

A mid platformer with a 2+ hour playtime. Not really worth $10 - there are free platformers on steam with more challenge.
