About Neyyah

Neyyah is a first-person point-and-click adventure game, set within a collection of remote almost abandoned islands, separated by a series of complex portal machinery and laced with the fingerprints of two very intriguing cultures.
Upon waking up from a strange dream, you find yourself transported to a place called Olujay, where you meet Vamir, who sends you to Neyyah in the hope you will be safe there. For reasons you will discover upon your many explorations, Vamir needs you for a matter of great urgency.
A wrong must be righted. A civilization avenged. A secret revealed.
You end up on Neyyah with only a small amount of knowledge given to you by the frantic Vamir on what you’re supposed to do when you’re there.
Things don't go as planned. In order to return to Olujay and reach Vamir, you will have to explore Neyyah – linking together the mechanical contraptions, rusted levers and blue plasma portal systems scattered throughout the bizarre landscapes, as you learn about the cultures that have shaped Neyyah.
Not everything is as it seems, and as you wander further into Neyyah's ancient heart, your discoveries will lead you to uncover the very truths behind the fate of Earth itself ...

The most Riven-like game ever! Lots of reading and lots of backtracking aside, I loved it.

Was quite an interesting journey. Definitely brought back the oldschool myst vibes, but in a bit of a different direction. Would give it a solid 7/10, give or take a few points depending on preference of graphics/physical world building, puzzle difficulty and lore. Personally i'd be leaning to the give side. Is the game for you? If you enjoyed the old myst games, or point and click adventures in general this might be a game to give a shot. It's got atleast 14 hours of adventuring and exploring (assuming you find everything the first go). The game is quite beautiful. It may not be super realistic graphics, but it hits that niche that the old myst games had. Some parts were just a pleasure to experience. It has an interesting storyline with rich lore. There is a lot of reading available to flesh out the world, which may or may not be to your liking. But it at least brings life to the world you're in while providing clues for future puzzles. Probably the only negatives i could give is the amount of lore that is given to you. Especially in singular places and not so much spread around. Though, if you look at it in a realistic setting, it would actually make sense for it to be this…

A good game if you like exploring and looking for information to solve puzzles. Overall, the puzzles were fun. Point and click with hidden things is what the base game is about. It does have a lot of quality of life features. Able to highlight clickable object, see journal entries of points of interest and many more. You can get more features depending on what "Difficulty" you play on. Of which there are 3 options, I played through the game on the option that gave no extra guidance as it's how i enjoy to play games. Taking notes and exploring until i find what i need. There was only on two occasions i needed to look things up. Finding the "Pelska portal" and the mushroom spores. Not finding the "Pelska portal" at the begging meant i played most of the game with out it, just using fast travel mode instead. The pelska portal only works from hidden locations too 5 different main locations. Meaning it does not effect gameplay much. The mushrooms spores i don't think i would have stumbled upon if i hadn't read into it. The world and story was interesting, but a bit hard to follow as a lot of the world building was mostly in long texts. After a few i stopped reading, as i got bored o…

very reminiscent of Myst/Riven. artwork is great. I really enjoyed the levels the game lets you set hints to. i strongly recommend playing with no handholding at first and take your own notes - only refer to the in game note system or maps when you get stuck. Most puzzles and exploration felt natural, there were a few snags where something was supposed to be obvious that i missed. I would also say the amount of new terminology/similarity in naming of places and objects made it hard to keep clues straight (for example theres 10 types of portals all with made up names... i could never keep them straight). Settings needs better volume control. theres only an adjustment for music and its so loud i just had to turn it completely off.

If this is the type of game you are looking for its an absolute masterpiece. The different "difficulty" features is what sold me. REALLY hope he makes a sequel. Completed the game in about 18 hours

I'm torn. This is a nice Myst-like game, with a lot of space to explore, beautiful pre-rendered environments, and environmental puzzles. Unfortunately, the lore is like from the XKCD 483 "Fiction Rule of Thumb" strip: hundreds of made-up words, all different and difficult to remember. For the long part of the game, you can't remember anything from the texts in the game, because it reads like Chinese or something. This doesn't help understand what the heck you are supposed to be doing, and why does it matter. To add insult to injury, the final book you find in the game explains many things using normal, sensible language - why wasn't it like this from the beginning? Also, some things were EXTREMELY hard to find - you need to find on which particular screen you have 90 degree rotation instead and 180, and find a weird stone or maybe some device, where there is lots of unclickable devices all around. Still, had enough fun to give a positive review, but if there was a "mixed" option I would choose that.
