realMyst: Masterpiece Edition

Good update for its time. But I would play the newer 2020 version of Myst if your going to play one.

As someone who has heard time and time again that Myst is one of the greatest puzzle games of all time, I am very disappointed in it. I was not alive when this game came out so I don't have the benefit of nostalgia on my side so I have to compare it to today's standards. and today this game is very lackluster. Some puzzles are somewhat interesting (mechanical age solution, and all of the lighthouse area) but besides that, none of them are anything special or unique, it really came down to finding a note or piece of information that just said "This is the solution, go put it in at ??? location", but the ??? would always be extremely obvious. So instead of it feeling like a puzzle it felt like a shopping list. Also the two brothers saying the exact same things about each other, constantly being interrupted by static got really annoying after a certain point, to where I didn't care about either of their situations and was thinking about Fahrenheit 451ing them. The starting note on the ground is extremely easy to miss, along with random buttons laying around here and there.
