Lost in Paradise

"Lost in Paradise" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is an unusual screen tapping iPad game where the developers seem to have tried to do something a little different with the visuals... the character models and backgrounds are all (somewhat heavily manipulated) photographs and short video clips. This technique could really work and deliver some pretty cool looking visuals if done right. This was not done right. It looks blurry, fuzzy, and clunky, a byproduct of low quality source pictures, and low resolution delivery. Poor visuals aside, the gameplay itself is on par... really low quality puzzle solving 2D adventure game stuff. You'd be much better off playing a remastered Monkey Island or Kings Quest game if you're looking for nostalgia. The mobile app is very very short and can be finished in under an hour. I'm not advocating anyone should do this (I certainly didn't, as you can see), it wouldn't be right, but it's possible to buy the game, finish and refund in less than the 2 hour refund window on Steam. Visually stunning and nostalgic

Not as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, it's almost 10 years old and outdated, but the artstyle is actually quite nice, and you can play through it quickly, with hints if needed. The puzzles are a welcome change, but can be annoying on hard difficulty, like the coconut swapper puzzle i was not able to finish. The story is the same on easy, but with easier puzzles and more clues.

Lost in Paradise is a traditional point-and-click adventure built around exploration, puzzle solving, and a mysterious survival story. Developed and published by Elev8 Games, it begins with a voyage through the Bermuda Triangle that goes disastrously wrong when the protagonist's ship capsizes. Waking up on an unfamiliar tropical island with no obvious means of escape provides an immediately understandable objective: survive, explore the surroundings, and determine what actually happened. The island soon proves to be more mysterious than an ordinary deserted paradise, giving the adventure a sense of uncertainty that encourages players to keep investigating. Rather than functioning as a demanding survival simulator, the game uses survival concepts as the foundation for its puzzles. Players explore more than 25 locations while collecting objects, examining points of interest, discovering clues, and solving problems that gradually open additional possibilities. Some challenges incorporate practical ideas such as starting a fire, making rope, and constructing simple tools.
