I’ll be honest: when it comes to games created by solo indie developers, I tend to turn a blind eye to certain shortcomings, that I would certainly point out if they came from larger development studios. I do this because, in my view, such projects require far greater faith and a willingness to take risks than is the case with larger studios; someone really has to believe that their vision, idea and execution will find their place in the market and win over players’ hearts. Besides, these shortcomings often aren’t down to anyone “not wanting to”, but simply because there wasn’t the skill, budget or time to polish everything to perfection. Having said that, I must admit that this game is truly one of a kind – it draws obvious mechanical inspiration from well-known genres, yet is at the same time brilliantly designed, well thought-out and executed. Not everything turned out quite as well as the developer would have liked, but overall it’s a truly well-conceived world with a serious story told in a tragicomic way. First of all, the pixel animations are brilliantly done. They are lively & swift, great work there. The combination of the pixel art & the manga styled art panels during some special events or dialogue scenes is a great touch, adds a unique flair to the game when others would've not bothered. Honestly makes me wish this were an anime, it certainly has the makings of one. I, unfortunately, played this wrong. There're two difficulty modes, Easy & Normal. Easy is REALLY easy. Like "you-one-hit-kill-everything-and-can't-die" easy. In a way, I guess it makes sense, your character is meant to be strong, but the combat being so easy makes it feel unrewarding. If you're wanting an easy game that really is easy, this is a must. Can't say anything about the turn-based combat under Normal because I've not played it. Sometimes, the direction of what to do is unclear. For instance, if you best a certain enemy, you're sent to this spa & I was really confused. There was no Log Book or Quest Book or anything to tell me what I was there to do & the spa region's scouting mechanic was poor, I'm sorry to say. Your character can scout the vicinity "once a day", which reveals a new location …

Amazing game, the art and the humor are perfection!

Everything about the game is just chef kiss. The gameplay, the visual, it's just top notch. But what I can't grasp my head is that the story could've adjusted slightly. There's too much plot holes that should have been addressed. I understand that the dev is trying to explain the story between humans and ai lack morals but they are the same coin despite the difference, creating chaos. This game runs well on Steam deck but framerate drops instantly at the final mission
