It's not really a HOG, you've got to do little matching puzzles to get yellow and purple points to progress the plot. This would be okay for some people. But also, when you get to the stables, there's a moment where you have to "examine the gramophone", and when you do the game bugs and you can't go any further.

This is not really a Hidden Object Game. It's more of a find matching pairs with a storyline. I haven't even completed it all yet, but it's already rather tedious to play level after level just to collect starts to progress in the game. I do have to give them credit for switching up the mini games a little, but after a half an hour it's become a tedious and not very fun game for me. I don't recommend if you are looking for a real Hidden Object Game..

Hiddenverse: Ominous Opus is a story-driven casual puzzle adventure that combines hidden-object challenges, Match-3 gameplay, investigation, minigames, and player choices within a murder mystery. Developed by Shaman Games Studio and published by HH-Games, it aims for considerably more narrative involvement than a typical hidden-object release. Instead of treating puzzles as isolated stages, the game surrounds them with a mystery involving secrets, suspicious characters, moral decisions, and several possible outcomes. The result is an ambitious mixture that offers plenty of variety, even though the different parts do not always feel equally developed. The story follows Avenlee Courtwald, a writer experiencing difficulty with her latest work. A possible escape from her creative problems arrives when her longtime friend Emet invites her to Dawnford, away from the distractions of the Capital. What initially appears to be an opportunity to relax and recover her inspiration quickly turns into something far darker. Upon reaching Dawnford, Avenlee discovers that Emet has died beneath debris in the sewers. The circumstances initially suggest an accident, but evidence convinces her that som…
