Concealed

Concealed, just like its predecessor "Ghost in the Pool", offers lovely potential in terms of concept and presentation, but tends to fail in the writing department unfortunately. The suspense and horror moments are truly great, the art is very immersive and captures the grotesque vibes perfectly. Also in general, the manga artstyle creates a memorable atmosphere, I like it a lot! However the ratio of those intense moments to normal slice-of-life is quite dysbalanced, in my opinion. Most of the plot shows basic high school life, but in a rather odd way. It feels like the writers have never interacted with high schoolers before, as most of the characters behave like young middle schoolers at most, and even then many have very comical personalities and drop references to random literature pieces every two minutes. Which is confusing, as the story still touches realistic deeper topics, proving that technically the character writing has the capability of being decent. Besides that, I found the mystery itself pretty interesting and felt eager to find out the truth. And I certainly enjoyed the reveal, it was cool and creepy, I wish there was more of that horror stuff throughout the s…

A visual novel presented in a manga style. Mild horror, supernatural mysteries, and a well-paced story.

*** I happily revised my original negative review of this game after getting the opportunity to play the remake *** I was so excited to get to replay concealed, but even more so when I discovered that every issue I previously had with this game had been corrected with the remake! I've actually been lucky and was able to speak to the very, very small and dedicated team of developers personally and they made it clear they care about the feedback that was left on their game. They fixed pretty much everything that their players had complaints about and I could't be more pleased with their work! I don't want to compare what was an issue previously versus what was fixed, because those issues are now nonexistent, but I will say if you played before and were frustrated with the save system, PLEASE give this game another shot and that's just one small reason to replay Concealed! There's more content now and the game's story flows much, much smoother. It felt so intensely more interactive than it was before and even more than dozens of other VNs I've played. The developers improved the localization and did some other fine-tuning within the game and I have no plans to quit replaying it an…

this is one of my favorite VN games now, I love the mystery in this one, but I wish someone could tell me how to get the true ending, it's so hard to get

i would say the story telling is top notch, i never got bored when playing this, it builds up the suspense while keeping me interested with the slice of life conversation, i kinda nailed the suspect in my mind before the reveal just not knowing how it done it , overalll greatt game, great art , definitely different than others in a good way :pray

A different visual novel, with a decent premise and a nice art style. I'd say my biggest criticism is how little impact you have in the story overall (especially with how often the characters go down a rabbit hole and miss glaring red flags), there are a few choices and most of them have any real impact, but it is interesting how some of the choices do go on to have an affect later down the line. All in all a good little game, especially for the price.
