The Last Case of Benedict Fox Definitive Edition

Pretty cool aesthetic. I like the Eldritch theme that's going on through the game. There are a lot of interesting ideas going on in the game. I like the use of puzzles, but they do get tedious and aren't very difficult to figure out. The combat is the main con of the game with a very limited amount of enemy types and no differentiation on how to fight anything. Boss fights are a pretty big let down too. I think there is enough here to recommend this game to the biggest of Metroidvania enthusiasts.

I'm not a big fan of metroidvanias, but—well, i'll be honest, it reminded me of Malevolent, so I bought it. so far, I haven't been disappointed, though i think I'm only about 30% of the way through as of writing this. the game is a little roughshod in parts, though i haven't had any of the bugs that others have mentioned. the english voice acting is... it's fine. let's be real, though: the game is a) Polish and b) very indie, the fact that it has a full english dub at all (let alone a halfway-decent one) ought to be considered a bonus. I like the Companion's voice, he's very Venom (lol). some of the menus are a bit cumbersome, and it definitely wants you to play with a controller (but they actually let you fully rebind it - THANK YOU 🙏), but i don't have any complaints about the gameplay. call me basic but i do love me a good timed parry combo. i also really appreciate that they let you turn off some of the most unbearable metroidvania aspects specifically separate from puzzle difficulty. i'm absolutely a "game that needs 10 pages of notes" kinda gal, not so big on "game that kills you every 30 seconds." (i will grant that "I don't like metroidvanias, but i like this game…

chill game

Amazing game, good concept with great story

Some great ideas, terribly implemented. Cool aesthetics and lore, terrible gameplay. Buggy, unclear, unfinished.
