Coralina: a Memory Tale

I finished playing this a couple of hours ago and still can't find words to describe other than how much this is a massive improvement from the first entry and how some parts of it genuinely made me think about a bunch of stuff that has happened and reflect on those things. It's been a while since a piece of media almost made me cry and I'm really excited to see what comes next from this adventure.

I can see there's A LOT of effort behind this game and I appreciate it a lot too, there is a lot of art and ancient culture references, it is graphically simple but feels so cared for and I loved the fact that many artists were involved in it, they are also all very talented! I love passion projects, don't get me wrong... but I can't really recommend it: First of all, it's slow af, lots of scenes seem like frozen sometimes, no matter what you press, nothing happens; There are a lot of characters, but none of them feels important, it always seems like a big chunk of the story is missing even when they try to lore drop; They're all edgy teenagers and the story feels all about edginess for the sake of it. Even when they're trying to be serious, they just can't. It's not funny at all, just stop; Even the relationships we're following from their very beginning just feel random and shallow, there's no reason for these people to become friends or connect, they just assume things about each other and project as hard as they can while the writer hopes you, the reader, feel "seen" and "understood" because they're saying the most stereotypical and predictable sh!t about being alone and fin…

Um dos melhores jogos que joguei! As referências a escritores, músicos e artistas de maneira geral... O carinho com detalhes, com as artes, com a história... Tudo muito lindo. O jogo falo sobre uma jornada de autodescoberta envolta de uma camada trágica de traumas passados, não há forma melhor de contar uma história sem que seja assim. Que os desenvolvedores e artistas recebam todo amor e carinho possível, vocês merecem. <3
