Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3

This one HURTS to make. Now, I am a fan of the series. I have been since the first game. And honestly? Yeah, this is a good game. I like the story, however weirdly inconsistent it is (Seriously, I thought I missed a game when first going into this after GV2.), and I like the combat, even if the talismans tend to be janky at best and horrendous at worst. (Looking at you, Sunrise Palace 2.) So why is this negative? Well, it's not. It's just that Steam has YET TO MAKE A MIXED REVIEW OPTION. Seriously, it's really not that hard. But speaking of negatives, that's the main reason why I made this review. And it all has to do with the postgame. No, not the epilogue, that one's fine. I mean the POST-postgame. It is NOT beginner friendly at all. This game is pretty easy already. Especially with Prevasion. But the postgame is WAY overtuned even on Relentless. The difficulty curve from the True Final Boss to even the First Level is downright agonizing. Now, I know some nitwit is going to look at this and go "Hurr Durr, it's meant to be hard, you're just bad." I know it is. I'm not a moron. I also managed to beat the first level on merciless, so I'm really not that bad. But that doesn't mat…

It's really short and way too easy. The characters do not stop talking, and their giant portraits overlay the screen while you're playing. Then at the boss fights, the boss starts talking too. THEN some robot butterfly lady starts flying around the screen and singing in Japanese. There's way too much ♥♥♥♥ to ignore... It's like trying to play Mega Man X and having 5 kids running around screaming and smacking the TV. If you're into that kind of thing, the game runs well on Linux. So that's cool...

The only person I ever met who liked this game was a pdfile and I think that says a lot.

I don't know why this game even has Gunvolt's name in the title this should be a spin off or something because you barely even get to play as Gunvolt. This game just throws away the cliff hanger that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 ended on and decided to fast-forward the game into the future Copen is nowhere to be seen and the story revolves around characters that weren't in the previous Gunvolt games. The game still hold sup decently well they even and gameplay is probably some of the most fun that it has been in the series. I feel like Zoomed through the levels though and didn't really feel as satisfied getting the highest rank on missions. Still it's not a bad game it's just a weird game with questionable choices.

Out of all the 3 main gunvolt games this one has gotten the better PC treatment. As a 3rd installment? The story is honestly beyond insane. I won't spoil anything. But the gameplay is fantastic with the new character. Easily one of my favorites of the 3

I can't wipe the smile off my face. Any Megaman Zero fans out there will love this.
