Not recommended for Deck users: Using proton compatibility I had to either accept there being no visible cursor or having the game crash when trying to complete a quest.

Honestly found my self surprised with just how good this game was. I didn't go in expecting a whole lot but what I found was a really well built automation factory builder mixed in with stardew valley elements of townfolk relationships and combat. It is a bit odd at first working with just a limited amount of daily resources given to you but in the end it doesn't really change anything about building out your factory. One gripe I do have is that the factory building is on a grid but the machines themselves are not neatly confined to the gridspaces. Akward overhangs means you end up with times you think you can snake a belt through a space only to find out its not going to fit.

An eclectic game to be sure. It taps into a whole lot of genre, which can make it a bit of a confused mess a times, but in the end is still a fun, worthwhile game. River Town Factory is a blend of Factory building automation, stardew valley relationship building, and basic 2d combat in a Wuxia setting. If you only want one of these things, there are better games out there, but that's not the point. This game is for people who want all three mushed together. Factory building: Factory building is clearly inspired by Satifactory and Factorio. The buildings and recipes take clear "inspiration" from Satisfactory, with the building input/outputs and splitters functioning identical to Satisfactory. This brings its own challenges as it translates to a 2d grid where you can only use underground belts a la Factorio to transport items. Logistical challenges can take up a significant amount more space for belt work, which is one of the unique challenges you'll be tackling in this game. In addition, the resource limitations will also be different. In both Satisfactory and Factorio, you have pretty much unlimited resources as long as you take the time to explore. In River Town Factory, you'…

Fun game. Blink and it is 2am.

Super clever mashup of Stardew and automation games. I thought Little Rocket Lab (which is great) was the first to do this, but this game predates it. If the game overall and English localization was a bit better/more polished, this would be a A+ title. Controller support could be better, but its inclusion is much appreciated and is very playable. Also the combat blows but you can you adjust difficulty down thankfully. Still even with its shortcomings, this is a fun and compelling game. Lots of stuff to work on and grow. And for the price, it looks like a lot of game.

It seems to be fun so far but definitely needs more work. I've ran into a few bugs already to include some non-English tool tips that were missed during the translation. Speaking if that, the translation needs some more polish as well.. While it's not horrible, there has already been a few "huh" moments from various things I've read. Here's hoping that the Devs aren't completely finished be cause with just a bit of polish this could be a pretty great game.
