About Big Jays Rattastic Adventure
Big Jays Rattastic Adventure is a 3D mascot platformer game with tons of collectibles. Every level can be finished without collecting anything, but the more stuff you grab, the better grade you get at the end of each level. Unlock more levels and stuff by getting higher grades or completing certain tasks. Big Jays Rattastic Adventure features a unique retro look through it’s voxel models.You play as Big Jay, the fattest cheese loving rat that exists. Try to get back his stolen cheese. You run, jump, roll, tail helicopter, and attack your way through multiple levels. Each level has a minimum of 3 golden cheeses to collect, and a ton of coins. Jump on giant bouncy mushrooms, ring shooters, and more to fly through the air. Hit speed pads for a speed boost to clear huge jumps and large distances. Some levels feature an end boss, while others opt to test your puzzle solving and platforming skills.Big Jay can attack enemies in your path to help clear the way for you. I first heard about this game at Classic Games Fest 2024 when I stopped by the table the developers set up to showcase it. While there, I had the honor of talking to the developers about the development process up to that point (And even got a little 3D printed version of one of the coins!) as well as trying out the demo. Now that it's up for early access, I just had to get a myself a copy. and I'm glad I did! Not only is it still just as charming of a game as I remember it being, but there have also been some QoL changes that I'm thrilled about. The flight/gliding feature as a recovery mechanic is incredibly helpful, and It's great we not only have checkpoints now, but also don't lose cheese or coins upon falling off the map/into the water. I only went through one level before reviewing, but I plan to go through the rest very soon!2 found this helpful
Solid platformer with a unique visual style. The level design is nice and varied. Also a plus is that the dev. is responsive and fixed all the issues I initially had in launching the game.1 found this helpful
Met one of the developers at this year's AllCon and I love rats so I got the game (once I actually had downtime). Love it! Art style is cute, gameplay is fun. I'm bad at writing reviews but I am enjoying the game :)1 found this helpful
Fun game, good graphics, I like it. Kinda hard with an xbox controller but what's a game without a challenge? Good work!
Actually pretty good 3D platformer with a cute aesthetic, It has a little jank but it's not unplayable the level design is pretty good with some puzzles and secrets, my only criticism is that the attacks of some bosses are hard see and the game doesn't really work with my dualsense controller but overall a fun and sometimes challenging game, get it if you like platformers and rats
