I love this game so so very much. Is it a little rough around the edges sometimes? Yes. But it's so obvious this game is a labor of love. It's a blast to play, the music is fabulous, the antagonist is the coolest antagonist literally ever and it's just all around a project that's really captured my imagination. I would highly recommend you play this game! You might have to consult the community forms to get some bug fix info, but the community is super loving and the creator does a great job touching things up and maintaining the game too! The area that was most bugged for me was Fever Freeway, which (SPOILERS) has a cool 'double layered map' situation going on where you fall from the top layer map to the bottom-- and the monster down below gets more aggressive with different stages for each gear box collectible you pick up throughout the level. This is an awesome idea! Mine ended up being a little buggy though, where my underground monster would or would not progress sometimes (he got stuck at stage 1 for awhile, and randomly jumped to stage 4). Writing my first ever review for Steam, and I think this game deserves that honor, given how obscure it is. A Happy Place is a retro collectathon that tries it hardest to disguise itself as a completely normal game that isn't totally horror, but what set itself from the others, is how the horror parts presents itself, and the underlaying story. And also that it is a pretty solid game overall, don't forget that. Fair warning for anyone reading this, my review will contain SPOILERS, but they'll be marked. First, let my sing my praises about this game. Has bats and you can play as one, which automatically makes this 10/10 in my book, I am totally not biased in this, but for the sake of having a objective review that isn't influenced by personal preferences, I'll those leave out of my final rating. All levels as well their dark world sides are decently designed at minimum, none of them feels like a slog to play though, and the dark world sides feel different from each other and usually have a gimmick to keep themselves fresh. None of the monsters in the dark worlds are insta-killers (save for one), which is thankful for players who kinda suck at platforming, and if they "tech…

I love this feverdream-ish platformer! Reminds me tons of games like Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie!
