This is so ass man!!! *DON'T EVEN THINK OF GETTING THE GAME EVEN ON DISCOUNT, NOT WORTH YOUR TIME* I hoped that furyu would whip out a better game this time compared to their prior titles, but it's hella disappointing fr. Gameplay is hella tedious, story is predictable and has no nuance to any of the trauma they go through, combat system is sloppy and there's not thrill, the SSS Guild activities are just the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over. I hella ♥♥♥♥♥ with furyu but this is ♥♥♥♥♥ man. Might as well just play with a menu screen that pings "Level up" every time you hit the attack button, the music this time wasn't even a saving grace for this thing... please, please, please, don't waste your time and money...2 found this helpful
this game is too much of a wannabe persona 5 but its not bad1 found this helpful
This game is... unfinished. Someone clearly invested into visuals and idea, but whoever worked on gameplay and story just screwed it all. Not only initial chunk of the story is completely gutted and leftbare bones, last two chapters try to contain 90% of the story while rest of the game attempts to pretend to be persona like... Is this game fun? Watching how Aruka acts like the best girl is fun, you can even say brain dead combat can be good passing time. But it is definitely not worth the price it is asking as game is clearly unfinished, especially because it asks you to go through long and boring dungeons at the end where no enemy can be a threat since Aruka is not only the best wife, she can carry you through any threat with her healing, so all you do is run through linear dungeon wasting time on mobs that pose no threat, only to end up beating boss who can do nothing except receive your punches... Anyway, I had fun reading banter between charactes, but it is still not worth the torture of gameplay. Definitely do not buy it at full price (I bought it at 50% discount, so just wait if you want to suffer last two chapters just like me)1 found this helpful
VARLET is the usual FURYU-style game, and as such it feels a lot like their other titles such as Caligula. The world is a bit on the small side with very limited interactions — if you decide to skip even the few optional ones, playtime shrinks drastically. The plot itself isn't bad, though maybe a little too slow at the start. If you go in without too many expectations, it can work as a low-effort alternative to PERSONA. Personally, I'd give it a generous 7 out of 10.
It's a worse version of Persona. Just buy Persona. Now I wish I just bought Persona.
I plan on playing more of this game, but at the time of this post I have yet to actually beat the game. I start playing then get sidetracked and then when I come back I forget what I'm doing and restart...and then the process starts again. That said, what little I have played I actually do enjoy quiet a bit. The graphics are not bad, the gameplay is nice and the interaction between characters are fluid. That say I will do more of a post once I actually beat the game.
