About BLACKSHARD

BLACKSHARD is a first-person exploration game. Wander
through a strange megastructure, the Labyrinth, to unravel its
mysteries. Your behavior within the Labyrinth defines the
outcome of your journey. BLACKSHARD is a visual and narrative experience, a dreamlike journey
into uncharted liminal spaces. You will roam strange places,
endless corridors and unreal architectures, encountering mysterious
figures that have been forgotten for ages...What path will you take?
  • Explore a unique semi-open world. Find your own way through the
    Labyrinth.
  • Find shards of memory from those who came before. Accept the order of
things or choose a different path.
  • Interact with your environment. Transform the Labyrinth with
unspeakable powers, or preserve its cold complexity. Beware. You were not made for such a journey.
"I waited for a time that cannot be told.

The Labyrinth is a dull, sterile and ordered space. It is the embodiment
of time and causality. The harbinger of the Tyranny of Fate.

I played my part. I watched over the Labyrinth. I resisted the whispers.
I did not intervene. I did not count the unclean numbers.

But the Sign promises. It offers."

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's incredible atmosphere, stunning visual design, and exceptional soundtrack that create an immersive exploration experience through a massive labyrinth-like megastructure. However, movement and collision mechanics are consistently criticized as clunky and frustrating, significantly undermining what could otherwise be a transcendent experience for many players despite the strong artistic direction.

Had fun zooming around in this game. Absolutely love how there is 2 run speeds I touched everything I found. Is that good or bad? We will see Game is real quiet at first but the atmosphere gets real weird as you go I have some Favorite areas that I just wanted to spend more time in because they were just so beautiful Game did not make me motion sick!! I did turn off Head bob and Motion Blur as soon as I saw them in the settings so that probably set me up for success in being able to play I do recommend for people that like exploring and being lost in a game

Will you give in to the whispers of the Sign and meet Him? Or will you find another way out of the labyrinth? Blackshard is a spiritual successor of the free-to-play, atmospheric horror game NaissanceE. With its cavernous spaces, brutalist architechture, and open progression, it is an eldritch walk well worth its price tag.

- Wander around a place I don't recognize - See a giant geometric object making strange whispers - "I probably shouldn't mess with this, or hit the button in front of it." - Intrusive thought: But what if? Might add some color to this place. - "..." - So I let the intrusive thoughts win. - Accidentally unleashed an unspeakable eldritch entity beyond human comprehension that destroys an aspect of reality. - Chaos begins to envelope the central sphere of the construct of reality, warping and changing it in horrific ways. - The unending sterile stasis of the cyclical universe has begun to unravel. Entropy has been reintroduced. The end is inevitable. - So I begin my quest to free the other cosmic horrors to hasten the destruction of this universe and herald the birth of a new one. About mid way through that I decided to take a break, sat down, and started playing this game for a bit. I have no clue what I'm doing, but this game looks nice.

Made me realize how talented the dev team is. Great expansion on Chambers/Lovecraft-esque lore. Very cosmic horror and visually appealing. Lots of story told through very appealing visuals. Recommend if you like exploration, lore searching, and story told not only through narrative but very appealing visuals.

Great surreal megastructure exploration game. The levels and artwork are just superb. The fantastical huge architectures are truly something magnificent to behold and walk / run / jump, and platform through. In terms of gameplay, your task is really just to explore - the goal of the game is to visit and click on certain things at certain locations scattered around the world where you will be rewarded with some animation and lore. You can also click on a particular type of object to effectively set a respawn point that you can get back to in case you fall in crevasse you can't get out of, or just as a quick way to get back to a known location. In terms of negatives, it is is easy to lose track where you've been and therefore where to explore next some times. You can also get a lost, but it's not as big as a problem because usually there's a fairly obvious way to go "forward" which will either lead you towards your next goal or to the "entrance" on the "subworld" you're in. Also, getting lost is actually much of the fun of exploring. The game is arranged as a central hub world which is quite large, and from there you can visit several (about 8 or so) subworlds that have respecti…
