Cult of the Yellow King

[b]TL;DR:[/b] Cult of the Yellow King provides a nice experience, especially writing-wise, but I doubt it will come out of early access. I got this game in early access as soon as it was released, as I adore both its theme and incremental games in general, but [b]the updates are arriving really slowly[/b], and I believe you would be better off waiting for the full release if you would like to enjoy the game. As for the gameplay, it is pretty much what you would expect from an incremental game, but with [b]only not-so-deep build-making options[/b]. You can still try to optimize so the numbers go up even more nicely, but the best choice is often blatantly obvious, leaving you with only little room to strategize. Regarding the storytelling, [b]I believe the writers have done a great job with the game[/b], which is what I am looking forward to more of. Still, the content in the game, in that sense, is also lacking right now, rendering me unable to suggest purchasing it in early access. This is a cool little game. It's a simple clicker that doesn't overstates itself. The price is reasonable. The concept is cool. It's a really nice take on the iddler Cookie Clicker-like game genre. Edit: I edited this review after the thoughtful response from the dev team. I'd hate to harm small indie teams, even more so when their narrative genre alligns so well with mine. I sincirely apologize for the AI accusations and I can see how this could absolutely be entirely handcrafted, just with a structure that wasn't exactly to my liking. vibecoded disorganised mess

This game is a work of art. If you've read the Yellow King you know EXACTLY how right they got the tone. The black metal band they got to do the soundtrack (I couldn't read their name) was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing I couldn't believe it. This holds the world record for most metal idle game in the world, somebody put money on that.

its ok but needs to be able to progress while not running like in cookie clicker. lore is pretty cool but becomes a slog after a while

An absolutely incredible game - simple to play, with a great story to tie to that of the dear King. I could not be happier in having decided to purchase this game when i did, and i am excited to see it come out of early access
