About Tales of Old: Dominus
The Kingdom Lies in Ruins When corrupt nobles introduced Prima Nocta rights, they ignited a rebellion. The poor and the few just nobles banded together, fighting a desperate war that ended in the Battle of the Brides. The rebels were slaughtered and their forces scattered to the winds. You are one of these survivors, Eric of Woldham, who returned to find his village burned to the ground, his people killed, and sister taken by the victors.Tales of Old: Dominus is the story of his revenge, an open-world RPG mixing brutal combat with engaging stealth mechanics, crafting and survival, and eventually building villages, managing your domain, and leading troops in a second rebellion against the corrupt nobles brutally exploiting the realm.
- Grim Story of Vengeance: Eric's path will take him from the smoldering ruins of his village to the halls of nobility, as he grows in power from an anonymous survivor to kingmaker in a dark medieval setting.
- Detailed, Brutal Combat: Blood will be spilled. Overcome your foes using period-accurate weaponry, fighting up close and personal or letting your arrows and bolts do the killing. Or force them to flee, surrender, beg for your mercy, using a complex, gory combat system.
- Realistic Stealth Mechanics: Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Sneaking is affected by light, noise,- and of course, staying hidden in a wild forest is a much different challenge than in bustling cities or peasant homesteads.
- Open-Ended Character Progression: Eric is not confined to any specific class. Combine and mix skills to define his path: A noble swordsman with mastery of martial skills, a cunning thief capable of pickpocketing and lockpicking, a military commander - or anywhere in between.
- Build and Lead your Rebellion: Deep Crafting and Leadership Mechanics: Eric's rise starts with a camp in the forest. Craft everything from bolts and arrows, through clothing, to upgrading and managing villages, cities, even strongholds. Attract people, gain income, then hire troops to lead them against your enemies in battle - but remember, loyalty comes at a price.
- Dynamic Survival Systems: Staying alive means taking care of hunger, thirst, warmth. So hunt, forage, farm, buy supplies - or steal, rob, and murder. Mind the weather: Exposure to rain, snow, and scorching sun will break Eric as surely as lack of bread.
- A Living, Breathing World : Explore a richly detailed medieval kingdom. Fight and lead soldiers, join a guild and become a merchant, turn a simple homestead into a prosperous farm, become a leader of the underground... There are many paths to vengeance.

I want to like the game and I would have kept this game for sure. I joined the Discord though and all I see is silence. There are no staff listed no conversations nothing. This speaks volumes sadly, upon seeing that I quickly hit Refund in a hurry. If you want to take the chance on the game performance was good but there are many difficulties with the game. My most hated was the horse, steering it with the KB is horrible. It gets stuck too much. Combat I will warn everyone is not just hitting LMB you have a bunch of buttons doing different attack types. So far the AI enemy are stupid but I did not get all that far into it. I am not interested in having another game collecting dust in hopes that it will improve. This game feels like an Early Access game in about year 2 of development. Many rough spots that need help but the game is full release. Combined with a Dead Discord and Steam forum alike, I am out.8 found this helpful
Tales of Old: Dominus is a medieval open-world action RPG developed by Hvmana Industries MMD and published by indie.io, aiming to merge survival mechanics, brutal combat, stealth systems, and kingdom-building into a single cohesive experience. Set in a harsh and politically fractured land, the game follows Eric of Woldham, a survivor of a devastating conflict that left his village destroyed and his family slain. From this tragic beginning, the narrative unfolds as a tale of revenge, ambition, and gradual ascension from lone wanderer to a leader capable of reshaping the balance of power. The world of Dominus is intentionally unforgiving. From the outset, survival is as critical as swordplay. Players must manage hunger, thirst, warmth, and fatigue while navigating forests, villages, and contested territories. These mechanics ground the experience in a form of medieval realism, forcing preparation before embarking on quests or battles. Hunting wildlife, gathering materials, crafting tools, and maintaining basic supplies are constant concerns. This survival layer adds tension and immersion, reinforcing the idea that Eric is not yet a legendary hero but a vulnerable man struggling to e…4 found this helpful
This guy needs to be commended for just how much there is in this game (handclap emoji). I feel like it's really an early access game and the dev probably burned himself out with trying to update and patch everything, then just went silent. I hope they are still around because right now this game is guilty fun but it has the potential but quite extraordinary if they really ironed out the bugs, got a little better sound mastering, and added controller support for us lazy folk. This game has bug's so don't play it if you're afraid of bugs, you've been warned.3 found this helpful
This game is just very bad as performance wise terrible, combat it needs improvement how ever far as the story line is good. but the game need lots improvement one of the main issue is your horse it move to slow and it get stuck at one animation. fix your game fix the bugs the game now is 15 $ US dollar is not worth the money I spend 1 hour in the game and I ask for refund the game is not even in early access. I will not recommend at this stage not even for free.1 found this helpful
One should not write a review after just 20 minutes in the game. So, this is just my first impressions. Basically, I am waiting for the new Steam controller to come out, as the controls are too janky to be functional (I am not a K/M player, if you are, this will be less of a problem. First of all, I want to congratulate the (single?) Dev for the scope of his vision and ambition. The premise is really engaging, and it looks great, with a really immersive atmosphere. There is some serious talent here, talent that deserves support (which is why I bought the game). On the other hand the optimisation is low, and the jank is high. If you buy play this game, your thoughts will be exactly the same as mine - 'This would be a fantastic game if it had some investment behind it'. If you are looking for a fully realised game, this is not it. On the other hand, emerging talent deserves support. There is something wonderful trying to get out here, but it is held back by lack of funding. I really want the dev to succeed and keep building in this - to realise his ambition and to get the support he deserves. This is why I bought it, and why I give it a thumbs up now. I really wanted to like this game, but there have been no updates since in over six months and no recent responses, so this one seems another abandoned game.
