After manny hours of game I still don't know the goal of the game but I can't stop playing it! I absolutly love it1 found this helpful
The extent of depth that the game has is unbeleivable. It really requires understanding of diplomacy, politics, and family + national level of relationships in order to succeed in the game. Its city building capabilities are uncompared. AND THIS IS ALL WHILE THE GAME IS STILL IN EA! The way the developers have been very very responsive and have followed through every stage of the roadmap, I am confident, they will continue to produce extraordinary content for the game that will keep pulling me back for more again and again!
A promise of a city builder-meets CK3 ends up a bunch of quaint but disjointed mechanics that do not form a coherent gameplay loop. You can build up your farm, plop fields and decorations, but when it comes to depth and complexity it's more of a hideout from Assassin's Creed Shadows than an island from Anno 1800. As in, it looks pretty, but is functionally pointless. Whatever you do, you start making millions almost instantly and there isn't much to spend it on. The comparison to mobile games some of the reviews make is spot on - like, you have a separate "gold" currency you only get as salary from offices. This gates your progression and there's basically two ways to get it - one is raising your heirs to have high enough writing stat and hope they pass exams, or send them to take part in wars and hope they get to climb officer ranks. Both is random and grindy. Essentially by midgame your gameplay slows down to a crawl and you find yourself having little impact over anything, and it becomes staring at the screen waiting for things to happen. I really like the game, it's a fresh take on a family-politicking simulator. It's basically if sims and CK3 had a baby wrapped in Chinese Palace culture. There is a lot of things to do, from participating in battles, making babies, planting farms, building palaces, re-constructing cities, etc. I would recommend this game for people trying to scratch that medieval politics simulator-urban planning itch. However it is important to note that many of the interactions are through text and images so you do need a healthy dose of imagination. There are some walking animations (in cities, palaces, and farms) although honestly in my opinion even those can be removed as it bottlenecks the PC quite hard when you have several thousand servants and hundreds of family members and it doesn't really give you anything. Aside from the first few minutes the rest of the game is played through different number screens as you are interacting with dozens of people and performing dozens if not hundreds of actions at a time. The bad parts in my opinion can be summed up in 2 things. 1. There is a lot of clicking, there are some blueprints that you can use, but you can't use them in cities. It would be…
