Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon (Classic)

The basic rules of this turn based tactical board game seem promising. Units have different ranges, armor penetration, morale, and unit abilities. You can purchase more units, and units level up over missions. Sounds like a promising design. But in the time I played, the AI did not show strategy beyond moving as close as possible and attacking whoever was adjacent. No tactics or strategy, as if I was fighting zombies, not orcs and humans. You might argue many games are like this, and the fun comes in winning against uneven odds using that strategy. But the AI is so weak here it just breaks the game for me. I'd recommend Battle Brothers instead, also tile based with units with different abilities, but with great AI.

Well worth it's money unless you are alergic to old graphics, a real gem for any fan of strategy games or Warhammer 40k

Terrific strategy game. It combines the original Panzer Corp with W40K. It tells the story of Armageddon (in broad strokes), has enough story to keep you going and it really captures that "one more turn" feeling. I come back to this one again and again.

Please make new 40k campaigns

Glad to see they brought it back. maybe not one of the most visually appealing 40k games but it gets the brass tacks down better than most other games.

i recommend it with the provision that i've never warhammered much.
