100 Doors - Escape from Prison

This is a standard escape the room fare with country themed rooms to escape. You play as an attractive amnesiac female reporter who gets trapped in a prison complex and you have to puzzle your way out, finding a key in each room alongside some fluff items. Achievements are easy to obtain, but you are in the long run for it, because there are 150 rooms to escape. Every room is themed for some country-specific tropes and memes and there are some light puzzles present and often an easy mini game.

Each room is a self-contained puzzle that requires you to use items in the room by interacting with them or combining them in order to escape. The main character is modelled after Beren Guney, an instagram model and influencer, but a large percentage of the art appears to be AI generated, or at least AI was used during the creation process. Puzzles range in difficulty between extremely easy, and frustratingly obtuse - not necessarily intentionally by the devs, but because some of the puzzle solutions are frankly ridiculous. There are also many issues that appear to be a direct result of the port from mobile, such as menus with touch screen style controls, and a "mission" system that doesn't provide any rewards. The game also encourages the use of hints or skips to bypass levels, while also having a point system that rewards fast (non-skip) completion of levels, showing that the design is at odds with itself. It seems that game grown from the mobile game where user should pay for any hint. Most of flaws in the game related to this: useles hints, vague logiic of puzzles and clues for puzzles that somitemes misinforms player.

This puzzle game started off nicely but the later puzzles have become very tricky especially with some randomisation brought into some of them so as I can not finish the story this will become another chuck away game :(

160 levels is what you need to play. The puzzles are interesting but sometimes buggy. There is a story which is OK i guess. Recommended!!! Can play on Steam Deck!!!

I got so much out of this, over seven hours to be precise. Despite the title, there were at least 150 cells to escape. I loved that each cell had a different country as their theme. Really enjoyed the little references from each country. There's a hint button if you get stuck, and even a skip button for puzzles you can't figure out. Really recommend this one, you'll get a lot out of it
