10st Airborne in Normandy is a hidden gem from 1998 that I fell in love with the first time I played it.
Technical Issues
To counter the couple of negative reviews, mainly that the game didn't run properly. Fair, this is a game from 1998, that is on a one of a kind, totally unique code. I've played abandonware copies of this game where the game had many technical issues ranging from weird psychedelic colours, the FMV's not playing, to audio not existing. For this release, on my fairly powerful, couple of years old computer, everything runs basically perfect for a game of this age. All the colours are right, all the audio is playing, and all the FMV's work. It's the best version of the game I've played.
Gameplay
So what is 101st Airborne in Normandy? The premise of the game is you are controlling a "Stick" of paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division, the famed Screaming Eagles, where you will lead them for the first three days of the Invasion of Normandy on 06 June 1944. The first thing you do is select a mission. These will range from blowing up bridges or artillery pieces, to taking out German headquarters, to ambushing convoys and the like.…11 found this helpful
NOT recommended! Would not run. Really liked this game in the day. Steam should have someone who can adapt this game so it will work.5 found this helpful
I'm playing every Steam game in alphabetical order and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/HSliwJYBPog Prefer to read? 101st Airborne in Normandy is a strategy game from 1998 that requires you to read a 51 page manual to even begin to understand it. If the thought of reading puts you off, then don't pick up this game. If you're still curious, just know that this is a very slow and tedious game with an incredibly high level of detail. You'll spend the better part of an hour picking your squad members, choosing their gear and weapons and assigning seats on the plane, only for that to all go out the window when more than half of your squad instantly dies because the plane got shot down. This is a game for people that love intricate systems and realism, and not for anyone actually wanting to enjoy a game.3 found this helpful

This classic was one of my faves back in the day but I'd suggest that this build is almost unplayable. I'm keeping my copy just in case they fix it
