About Lifeforms: Binary Fission

Clone yourself to take over the environment in this bacterial evolution roguelite. Choose mutations and abilities each time you multiply. Use swarm mode to direct your species to attack enemies. Unlock abilities and perks to improve your odds. Compete against other multiplying and evolving species. The environment will change as species evolve or go extinct.

Start with one lifeform at the start of each scenario. Then find food, multiply and gain new abilities. Every lifeform in the environment is searching for food nd multiplying.

You are not just one lifeform, you are the species - you can switch control to any lifeform in your species as long as you are more than one.
Once your population grows enough, you will gain swarm mode where your species will follow the lifeform you are controlling and attack enemies that you target.

Choose mutations and new abilities each time you undergo a binary fission event.
  • Mutations can affect your lifeform's traits such as speed, health, energy, food capacity, etc.
  • Abilities can give you bonuses when you bump into food or enemies.
  • Effects on enemy lifeforms include stun, slow, stealing energy, etc.
  • Bonuses from consuming foods can include increased healing, damage, speed, etc.
  • Some mutations improve the abilities you've gained.

Earn Fission Points and Evolution Points by completing levels.
Use the points to unlock new abilities, mutations, and perks.

Customize your lifeforms' colors and morphology.
Unlock morphologies with different bonuses.

Unlock maps for sandbox mode by completing levels.
  • Feed lifeforms by dropping food into the environment.
  • Duplicate lifeforms by fission, or destroy them at will.

Sad to rate this negative. The idea and concept are great. The execution needs work but is overall fun. But the content is too low. In my 1 hour playtime i finished 4 maps of like 9 or so. Unlike other Survivor-like games, here you dont have endless enemy cells to play with. They go extinct and once you reached the main goal of the map, you win and thats it. This can take like 10 minutes or so per map. The problem here by design is, that any map is too small and doesnt fill up with new cell types. If this was more like an endless body type of design, where you never run out of opponents, space and such, this would be great. Theres other things that cause problems by design. You generate a swarm, but they are often worse than your opponents. They take your food and thus your XP and they are aggressive at that. You kill an enemy to eat its remains? Tough luck, you get bumped away from its corpse while the others around you eat what you should get. Set that aside, when you cell dies, you get another one, but you lose your abilities and perks, rendering your previous work of eating and gaining levels pointless besides generating more cells for your swarm, which will eat your food an…

Very addicting, but unfortunately very short. Was able to beat the game in around 4 hours of game-play. I would only be able to recommend it if it had more to it like achievements or a long-play mode to make it feel like a "fuller" experience.

Fun game. It is a repetitive timewaster to be transparent. For $10 it is a bit overpriced for content/time value.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. It took six hours to complete, and I think it will take another few hours to unlock everything. What is this game: If you think of the first stage of spore this is basically a more simplified version of that, there are upgrades for you to get and a levelling system, you dont physically add those upgrades its all under the hood (ie increased speed, etc). I hope the developer adds more, because it was a fun little game to play free from all the slop currently out there. And I want to play it more which means I want more upgrades etc.

Don't buy. Game keeps running but gives you an unplayable blackscreen every few minutes. Developer abandonned it.
