why yall hatin on this game

Feel like a bad a** until you reach the bosses

Not my cup of tea, but i can see why people like it. Fun combat, huge world, tons of content. My main issue was that it can become repetitive after a while. Duels with human bosses are quite fun, but fights with big monster-type bosses often devolve in a visual mess leaving you wondering wth is happening on the screen. performance is not abysmal, but definitely not great - for some reason, the game only likes to run at 30 fps, 60, or 120 but nothing in between. i had it locked to 60 but did get sudden drops to 30 in some boss fights, which is annoying given i had the settings at like medium-high. Buyer beware

After playing and completing all Nioh (1-3) I will say overall what a great game. In each game I could easliy put out another 100 + hrs into them, and still have new ideas to try. I would say this about each games. Nioh- Most grindy, great story, good weapon skills. 6/10 difficulty, has 2 of my top 5 bosses in it. lacks in comparison in customization,battle, and guardian spirits. Nioh 2- By far the hardest and most challenging one IMO, great guardian spirit choices, decent story for a sequel, and great customization. 8/10 difficulty (to platium IMO), DLC end boss was hard for me. Nioh 3- Best fighting experience, most rewarding (you dont feel like you are in endless cut out levels that are painted different). Great weapon transition, story concept is good. I perfer open world now to traditional, I perfered nioh 2 guardian spirit customization over nioh 3. difficulty 7/10 (to platium IMO).

The game looks great, and when it runs, it is pretty fun. The performance issues though....honestly, I'd wait until its addressed because I can run harder games on a laptop than I can this and that includes issues of crashing during moments that it feels like it shouldn't be struggling to that point. Ninja mode is for those who want to be more mobile, and while the trade off is a lack of stance switching like you'd normally perform in Nioh 2, you're given essentially low stance benefits of every weapon you're given, and the open world is amazing in contrast, including the exploration opportunities it gives in (Chijikos are cute, shame they don't stay around like the guardian spirits and Nigitama [good yokai] for visits though). The weapon split feels 50/50, as I understand that some folks would love to keep splitstaffs for example as a samurai, but it being a ninja weapon would make it feel counterintuitive as well. Haven't played through more than half of the first chapter to say too much else due to aforementioned performance issues, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
