"Alaska Solitaire Classic Card Game" is, just like it says on the box, a variant of Klondike/Solitaire where you match alternating cards until you sort out the whole deck. The whole thing could be done in a web browser, but the developer felt it was important to dump this on Steam so they could try flog the entire set of these crappy card games (any of which you could play for free on the web without needing to go through the Steam download rigamarole) for $15. The graphics aren't great, simple 2D interface, so the whole thing could be done in a browser. I don't feel like Steam was intended to compete with Firefox and Chrome. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are.
