+ No Gacha! + Turnbased + Colorful cast + Interesting story ideas - Too easy - Expensive DLC. Although, the game is more enjoyable with less characters - Very repetitive - Side content is boring and drags on, you get loads of it after every main story event - Only main story voiced, so most stuff is not voiced My enjoyment: 5/10 So many good ingredients, such a weak JRPG. Not sure I am gonna finish it.

Just finished this game with all endings and the final super boss. Based on my rough old memory of Another Eden which i stopped around part 2 ch2? years ago i can say. AEB is an ok game and personally i enjoyed it. The combat was a bit more "alive" compared to the original version but somehow lacked the feeling of the original at the same time. I also was slightly disappointed they didnt (at the point of writting this) make more out of it. Many end game areas are just "there" without a purpose since in the original game they had story content. I like the updated graphics and voice acting a lot and personally would hope the original gacha version would make an engine change. For AEB itself i think its a nice game, dunno if it will be for everyone but i would suggest trying it out. If your a Chrono Trigger or ofc Another Eden fan itself u should give it a chance for sure.

Another Eden Begins is an offline, standalone version of the first main story arc of Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, a live service game. Playing part 1 of OG AE pre-COVID was rough, mostly due to awful memory leaks and a no-so-great English translation. AEB fixed everything and on top of that has added main story and character quests (almost) fully voiced and incorporated many nods to the OG AE, while keeping a lot of the original feel (AF dancing, badges/grasta, boss moveset rotations). As such, AEB should be looked at as the gold standard for live service to offline adaptations, and thus gets a recommend regardless of whatever gripes I have. Fortunately there is enough content to warrant the 40 USD price tag, especially given that new buy-to-play games tend to retail double or almost double that nowadays. Moreover, people that hate gachas can put their money where their mouths are and can simply purchase additional characters instead of engaging with a gacha system.

AEB is a stellar adaptation but falls a bit short of being a stellar game (disclaimer: I've played the original AE from 2019-2025 and have spent low four figures in USD over that time; you…

Pretty good. The English VA is terrible though so change it to their native language via settings. Easy at first, challenging as you continue further. The story is great, gameplay is simple enough to understand. The characters are neat with multiple ways of playing them. Its worth trying out.

This game is phenomenal. I don't understand the negativity. Maybe they're from impatient people who judge by an hour of gameplay and give up and just say it's bad? *shrug* But there is SO MUCH content here, a bargain for 40$. It took me roughly 100 hours to get to new game plus alone. And then there's several endings to top it off! The gameplay is easy to start but progressively ramps up as you progress. Like most games. There's a lot of new context for veterans of the gacha game to enjoy, and a brand new story for people new to the series. And again, a LOT of content. A LOT. My only complaint is the price of the dlc. But I have a theory that previous dlc's will be useable in future games (this is only the first, it's obvious they intend on making more stand alone games.), so I firmly believe one dlc will be useable in all subsequent games. If I'm right, the dlc is well worth the price as well. The gameplay seems simple and straight forward at start too, but winds up getting complex and customizable later on as more characters join you and difficulty ramps up. THE DEMO DOES NOT DO THIS GAME JUSTICE!! Sadly the demo is kind of a garbage demo. It doesn't show off all the features an…
