The game really has potential. The mix of 3D environments and 2D hand-drawn (which reminds me of Ken Sugimori’s early art style, back when he was still working on the illustrations for the fanzines that eventually led to Pokémon) characters gives it a unique charm. I especially like the wolf’s design, it looks great. The knight’s design feels a bit different from the rest, but it’s not a big deal. The combat system is pretty interesting too, and I’m curious to see how it’ll develop if the project keeps going. I really like the soundtrack, it has a pretty strong late 90s–early 2000s retro vibe. But it's a bit of a shame that it’s not mentioned anywhere that this is a demo, since the game isn’t finished and we only have access to the first two or three hours of gameplay. Still for an early version, it already shows a lot of promise. I’d just love to see more variety among the NPCs in the final version, especially in the village. It would also be nice to have some way to heal during fights, since right now you can only attack and have to go back to the grandmother’s house every time. And I find the shield system that protects you from certain types of attacks (slashing, piercing...…1 found this helpful
The game runs poorly, the enemies deal too much damage, and the attacks are poorly telegraphed. The soundtrack is the only thing this game has going for it in my opinion, and even that isn't great.
