AR-K is a mixed bag that I really wanted to love — the sci-fi setting is genuinely interesting, Ash Sroka's voice acting as Alicia is fantastic, and the fourth-wall-breaking humor between Alicia and the narrator in Episode 2 actually made me laugh out loud a few times. But the puzzle design is where the game falls apart: too many solutions are completely illogical, and I found myself just clicking every item on every object until something happened rather than actually solving anything. The interface is also clunky, especially dragging items out of inventory to use them in the world, and Episode 1 in particular feels rough around the edges with bugs and unclear item descriptions. The protagonist herself is hard to root for — she does some genuinely awful things to the people around her — though Episode 2 shows some improvement in her character. For fans of classic point-and-click adventures who don't mind consulting a walkthrough and can overlook technical rough patches, there's enough charm here to be worth it on a deep sale, but I can't broadly recommend it.1 found this helpful
This is by no means the worst game I have ever played but I can't really recommend it. So I only played the first two episodes but they seemed so bloated. There is so much going on yet not enough. The biggest issue is the main character. Alicia Van Volish is a ♥♥♥♥ to everyone around her, including her roommate who she almost kills twice. I'm supposed to care about her and play as her but she's comes off as such a jerk that I'm tired of looking at her. I don't know, maybe the last chapter will be better. Who knows1 found this helpful
https://youtu.be/hwCyc7_s7bg Oddly plastic character models put things in an uncannily valley while the opening stakes of causing mischief is hardly endearing to the point of view character.
Pretty awful. I don't remember when I bought this so it must have come in a bundle. I've had an interest in point-and-click games recently so I decided to give this one a try. The main character is the most annoying condescending protagonist I've ever encountered and the fact that such small and basic levels are sold episodically is a bit of a joke. Point-and-click isn't fun when you have to listen to the same annoying sarcastic dialogue over and over. Mashing my keyboard taught me that escape skips dialogue so that's a plus. The text is also glitched every once in a while and a game this bad should work harder to guide you along, since between the unlikable protagonist and boring story I got turned off playing within the first hour. People crowdfunded this? Yikes.
Just 2 episodes what are short. It show third episode in game but this is sold separately. First episode is fine but second have weird solutions, so I end up following guide. Game have fun jokes and is not for kids. Game freeze multiple times breaking my PC, I could exit from game but it stays opened in task manager and any effort to close it wont help. I tried to restart PC and it stuck on restarting because it couldn't stop this game from running, so I had to hard reset PC on button. Also I didn't liked main character, she is so rude and do lot of vandalism some of this does not make sense for story This may pass as free game or some very cheap, it is too short to make your money worth. It have trading cards and easy achievements
