Sure, it's cheap but It's just too basic & amateur to be much fun. My 14 year old step-son has made a game in this genre for school and apart from the visuals, this is only a small step up from that.3 found this helpful

This is a really attractive game, especially in the character art! There's a mysterious thief named Dim, a redheaded fire master named July, an anthropomorphic (and very cute!) cat named Kate, and a secret character to unlock. There's also a plethora of baddies to vanquish, and a wide variety of weapons and upgrades to do it. Experiment and find the most efficient build to tear through the waves of foes!
[i]Arcane waves[/i] is a remarkably addicting game that hits a sweet spot in the level of engagement and strategy. The in-game movement requires focus to predict enemy movement to stay safe, but it's still relaxing enough to do while listening to a podcast or your favorite music. The strategic choices of upgrades can reward thoughtful play with a helpful edge, but it isn't so unforgiving of experimentation as to give you decision fatigue. There are multiple characters with their own campaigns, and one of them is a mysterious unlockable. Plus there are plenty of achievements to pursue, which are helpfully listed in the game, so there's a lot of fun to be had, along with the glorious number-go-up dopamine rush of seeing your stats climb high and higher. Try it today and test your mettle against the hordes!
