An excellent journey that puts the player in a Homeric-style Epic tale. I found myself being immersed in the story and enjoying the scenery. Truly one of the best hidden gems I've played. Thanks devs!3 found this helpful
This is not a "walking simulator" as some call it, but this isn't a proper adventure game either. It is something in between, but completely missing the best parts from both worlds. The visuals and atmosphere are "good enough" for an old-school game in my opinion, but very lacking by today's standards. The story is bland, predictable (for anyone who is slightly familiar with at least the basics of the Greek mythology) and delivered by a pompous narrator who bombards you with random names you don't care about (and I'm not talking about the well-known ones like the gods and heroes) and uses ten times more "pretty" words than necessary for each simple occasion. The "puzzles" are minimalistic, with solutions either completely straightforward (like using the only unused item you have on the only object which shows that it requires an item) or extremely arbitrary. The only actual puzzle in the game involves a simple rotating maze (there could also be a jigsaw, but even that is not there, since in fact you just put each part into the only place it fits). The only way to get stuck is to simply miss one of the items laying around, or not approach an object close enough for it to show that y…1 found this helpful
Argonus and the Gods of Stone, developed and published by Zojoi, is a mythological first-person adventure that blends the grandeur of ancient Greek legend with the structure of a classic point-and-click experience. It opens with a striking image: you are Argonus, a historian and cartographer aboard the fabled ship Argo, shipwrecked upon an unknown island. Your crewmates, once living heroes, have been turned to stone by an unseen force. With the help of a mysterious goddess who serves as both narrator and guide, you must uncover the cause of the curse, appease the gods, and navigate a land steeped in divine wrath and forgotten secrets. From its first moments, the game makes clear that it aims to be less about combat or spectacle and more about atmosphere, discovery, and mythic storytelling. The tone and pacing of the game immediately recall classic adventure titles of the 1990s, but presented through a modern visual and narrative lens. Argonus is not a hero in the traditional sense—he is an observer, a man of intellect rather than violence—and this choice defines the game’s entire design philosophy. There are no battles to fight or enemies to slay; instead, your progress depends on…
really good game or it would be if that STUPID WOMAN NARRATOR WASNT DOMINATING EVERYTHYING. THERE IS NO NEED FOR HER WHATSOEVER SHE SPOILS THE IMMERSION. Also graphics are no good everythings grey even the grass. so I dont know whether to recommend or not. Those things aside i enjoyed playing. Loved talos. he was scary
I loved this game, Basic but decent graphics, good puzzles, awesome setting and story really enjoyed, people should watch a game play video to see if it is a style they like 1st.
I've given up, and I've given way worse longer. Like many others, I'm a huge SG fan, and this has all the wonderful hallmarks of what a cool 3D experience with a mythology paint job could've been, but it's not that. As many others have said, it's more a walking simulator with a half-baked adventure game slapped on top. It feels like a pitch or early design document was the inspiration for this, as there's nice narrative elements with identifiable characters from mythology that would've charmed any early participants. However, the "keys" for these gameplay "locks" are usually no more than two rooms away, and most of the time puzzles solve themselves because you already have a key to a lock before you even knew it existed. When they don't just fall into place, it's because there's some fantastical idea, like "burying dragons' eggs in order to grow a tree," that can only be reasonably solved by throwing the (nifty) inventory menu open and just trying everything with everything. So if you're someone who enjoys puzzles, and not just "find fish" and "give to pelican" type puzzles, don't expect the gods to ask much more from you. Throw in the fact that potential enemies, towering creature…
