About Axecutioners
Axecutioners is a 2D fighting game in which players must determine which axecutioner reigns supreme! In a kingdom dying of boredom, the ruling king took it upon himself to find his subjects (and himself) a new source of entertainment. Enter the colosseum, with its new (totally willing) participants, all of the prisoners in the land! However, as the kingdom runs out of prisoners to pit against one another, the duty of entertaining the masses has fallen to the king's loyal executioners. Now at the mercy of a local necromancer (to ensure the fights never end), the executioners, armed with their larger-than-life axes, are now tasked with slaying each other in an endless cycle to see who can be spared being brought back from death once again!
In Axecutioners you play as an axecutioner fighting for their life for the entertainment of the king, the kingdom, and the necromancer! Utilize your low, mid, and high attacks in rock-paper-scissors style combat. However, be careful; even though you are an absolutely yoked fighter, your axe is quite large and unwieldy, meaning your attacks are powerful but slow! This means you need to be very intentional with each attack, or else your opponent will win the favor of your audience!
Additionally, pick up the crown each round to empower your attacks! While it won't make you hit any harder (it is just a crown after all), it will give you the extra ability to cleave your opponents in half if you land the killing blow! Impress the audience (and your friends) by showing the other axecutioner who's boss!

THIS GAME IS THE BEST FIGHTING GAKE I HAVE EVER PICKED UP. GUILTY GEAR WHO?!?!! WHATS A STREET FIGHTER???????!??! THE STRATEGIC SIMPLICITY MAKES IT SO EASY TO PICK UO AND SO MUCH FUN TO SIT DOWN WITH MY BUDDIES ON THE COUCH!!!!!!!!!! TEH DEVELOPERS CLEARLY LOVED MAKING THE GAME AND THE SOUNDTRACK IS ABSOLUTE FLAMING HOT CHEETOES FIRE!!! I CAN LISTEN TO IT WHILE GAMEING, STUDY SLASH RELAXING, AND SLEEP BACKGROUND NOISE! DEFINATELY PICK UP IF YOU ARE NOT THE BEST AG COMPLEZ FIGHTING GAME INOUTS AND LOOKING TI TRASH TALK WITHYOUR FRIENDS!! This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] This is a laughably bad, bug riddled local PvP arcade fighter versus with some low poly deaths head executioners waving comically large axes at each other. Yes, once more Steam Direct gives us a bad idea, implemented badly. It's a dead PvP game, and it's time for us to have a post-mortem to see some of the reasons this failed. [i]Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails.[/i] Developers often assume just because they published their game, it's going to "go viral". I'm guessing this is a case of the developers making this game in complete isolation without even bothering to look at what other PvP games on Steam already offer. PvP games face extreme competition, PvP gamers have plenty to choose from and they gravitate to where all the other players are. This game didn't offer anything to peel those PvPers away from the PvP games they're already invested in. It had no upfront cost, but gamers still rejected it. …
You can literally kill your opponent with one button.
The game's multiplayer didn't work for me when I played it.
