I really love this one and it deserves to be more popular! It's kind of obvious the developer was going for more of a vaporwave aesthetic and then switched to a bit more of a Y2K vibe partway through development, but I can't really him for that one. Games take a while to make and people's tastes change. Game itself is a Roll Away/Kula World clone. What does that mean? It means it's a good ass game! I'm currently stuck as hell though. Cursed to love puzzle games, but also to be very bad at them. *sigh*
Nice puzzle platformer that will test your spatial awareness. I liked the pace at which new tile mechanics were introduced and the novel combinations of the tiles. This is a really good before bed game, the music and bryce 3d style backgrounds straight off a dnb mix cover set a nice mood along with the gentle brain teases as you navigate over 80 stages. I think the final chapter of 10 levels is the weakest as they've stretched the mechanics as far as they can go and some of the levels get monotonous, particularly the stage covered in no teleport tiles where you can only jump across these cubed islands. I started wishing for unique colors for every island to ease navigation. Overall, Axys is a relaxing roll 'em up where you'll wrap around tiles to find new jumps to other tiles. If you're looking to test your navigation skills, pick it up.

The puzzle gameplay is great, starting with a simple premise and gradually expanding it with new mechanics as you progress through each disk. Puzzles involve plenty of spatial reasoning to effectively navigate the maze of floating blocks with your jump and gravity reversal, collecting tapes, points and keys along the way. Despite not generally being a huge fan of puzzle games this one really appeals to me; it's pretty easy to sink into a zen state of just trying stuff out between the visuals and soundtrack. Presentation is also excellent; the menu is the desktop of a very 90s PC and you select levels by slotting floppy disks into said PC. Each floppy disk has its own vaporwave-style visual theme for the back…
