when i read the description saying "a world that hates you" i expected a more harsh and unfair game that you have to fight your way though, but mostly this game is pretty fair and fun, if challenging. this more comes in the form of some gags and trolls, including some small jumpscares. mostly though the levels are pretty ordinary, some do have a bit more exploration and optional paths which is really nice, though the secrets were a little less plentyfull than i was hoping for. in general this game is pretty great for speedrunning, the levels have a timer, the levels themselves are not too long and have some optional paths which can make trying to route a speedrun path through them pretty fun. the characters movement is momentum based, which allows you to go pretty fast if youre skilled at the game. the character is a little slippery and not precise which may take a bit to be used to, but i found it really fun just moving around. though the levels themselves are mostly pretty cramped and dont seem to be really designed which the characters speed and slipperiness in mind, which does make it so mostly i didnt really get to use the movement to its full capability. the style and a…

A Surreal Masterpiece - Hard to believe it started at age 12! AYIN is a truly remarkable experience that caught me off guard with its depth and atmosphere. This isn't just another platformer; it’s a serious, surreal journey that demands your attention. The visual style is striking, and the movement mechanics feel incredibly polished. What blew me away even more is the story behind the game. The developer began coding and designing this world at the age of 12, and now at 14, has officially launched it on Steam. Knowing this makes the experience even more impactful—you can feel the dedication and the unique vision in every level. From the mysterious 'running flower' to the challenging 'troll' mechanics, the game is full of creative surprises that keep you hooked. It’s rare to find an indie project with such a distinct soul. If you love atmospheric, challenging games with a deep sense of mystery, you have to play AYIN. Huge respect to the young creator for this achievement!

Cool platformer, john ayin no diffs all fiction

TLDR. AYIN is a well put together game with good art and movement. While hard, it's worth keeping with it to see its many interesting and/or charming moments. It's for sure worth a look if you're a fan of weirder games. For more details, read on.  (Tiny note for full honesty I was a playtester. I played it all front to back before it released. I talked to dev some as well, but I promise my feelings are purely my own and are not biased by this.) AYIN is a rage game, and as one, it likes to pull a lot of tricks and ruses on you. These moments to me acted as the magic spice, one of the big things that kept me going. Every level had something up its sleeve, and it was fun to see it's array of trickery. This is helped partly by the level of difficulty. It hits a good spot. It's hard enough to make beating a level rewarding, yet not overly so that it takes days of work to get anywhere. I also enjoyed it's movement. You can pick up good speed (when used right), and is kept simple to use, only using a few core actions.
