Fans have asked for accessible and legal ways to play their original Backyard titles for years, and we are excited to deliver.Without having access to the source code, there are hard limitations on the experience we can create. Effectively a reverse-engineered and slightly modded version of the 2001 original. This effort shows that a basketball game from 2001 for children still slaps harder than a modern basketball rendition full of microtransactions. It is missing notable cover character, Kevin Garnett, from the original version, all references to him are removed due to licensing not going through, he is replaced with a character with the same stats however. I will say that for a free game, this is definitely worth your time, while its still a little clunky, originating from the early 2000s, I think its worth figuring out the ins and outs and enjoying the classic.1 found this helpful
