Zeferina is responsible for organizing, producing food, protecting the quilombo, attacking farms and releasing enslaved people.

Use all available resources, train warriors, fight tough battles, make inroads to free your enslaved brethren, make decisions about who can join the quilombo. Be strategic and sagacious, but, above all, have faith in the deities that will help you. Resist!

✦ AI summary

Players praise this historically-focused game for its engaging narrative about Brazilian slavery resistance, compelling soundtrack, and satisfying tactical gameplay that becomes rewarding once mechanics click. Common complaints center on unclear game explanations, clumsy translation, slow pacing, and rough presentation, though most feel the unique setting and short runtime make these issues worthwhile.

I would genuinely recommended playing this game. Especially if you're racist. It's actually fun and enjoyable to play.

"Banzo - Marks of Slavery" explores Brazil's dark history of slavery through engaging storytelling that cultivated my appreciation for the strength and determination of the portrayed characters. Despite the heavy subject matter, the game features restful and compelling music, an interesting and concise story introduction, and the ability to customize scenario difficulty. While the tactics-inspired art style and somewhat slow pace may not appeal to all players, the exceptional soundtrack is a particular highlight of this unique and meaningful narrative experience.

It never stops being satisfying to beat up a bunch of slave owners and free people. The translation is clumsy, and quite a few mechanics aren't sufficiently explained (how does Banzo work? How much defence do I need to repel the average attack on the quilombo?), but once you manage to get enough people in your community to turn things around it's smooth sailing to the finish line. Overall the game is quite rough around the edges, but worth the price for the cool setting and gameplay that's entertaining for its short runtime.

After giving the game a good amount of time played, and after having taken the time to get 100% of the achievements, i can say that the game is genuinely fun. Along with a very interesting story line, that takes you into history, it allows for you to play the game alongside that history so you can truly understand what life was like in a cool way.
