Welcome to one of the best precision platformers you'll ever see. If you like games like Celeste, maybe also a bit like Clustertruck, just give it a try, this game is not only a challenge for players but also offers a great story around Martin and his escape pod AI "M.A.R.B.L.E." - and yeah, it's fun to walk/roll on light. ;)

32 hours of game play reflects more my inability to play but its still quite a long game and I enjoyed exploring the world before me. The gameplay was actually pretty good and the level of skill required to navigate the various obsticles is a challenge, but if I can do it then well, maybe you can too. The mazes were frustrating and I spent far too long in those. The puzzle elements were satisfying to solve. I found use of the yellow, red, green, purple beams gradually introduced as the levels progressed helped with the learning the mechanics. So, I enjoyed BEAM and happy to finally finish it. This is a very different kind of puzzle game than anything else that I have played and glad I played it. Thanks to the devs. Recommended. EDIT: Now onto chapter 3 and its super difficult but I keep coming back to try to progress further. Its got me hooked. Finally, after an epic battle, I have completed BEAM 100% and feel exhausted. Looking back, one of the most memorable moments was being chased by the underground tunnel boring machine grinding through the rocks and me only just keeping up infront to jump my way out of a certain messy death. Really nicely designed game with nice visuals and a great and interesting puzzle element.

Something different and something good Beam is. Reminds me of the experience I had with The Ball, Marble Madness and various other games out there. As for issues with the game people mention the controls being a problem but it is false. It is just all about learning a different control set. Simple as that. As for graphics it isn't anything amazing but that is not the selling point with this game. Finally in regards to what I paid for this game I paid $10 and change during the Steam Summer Sale or around that time and well what I have played so far has been fun but as for recommending it to buy well let me say I recommend you get it and then decide in 2 hours whether or not you want to keep it or get a Steam refund. I decided to keep it. That decision was made long ago when I got my hands on the demo.

Me, being a fan of platforming games, loved playing Beam. It's a great platformer with puzzle elements. There are several types of "beams" (get it?) that, once activated, makes you able to traverse through several levels. The level design is great, though I there were some places where I went out of bounce. Luckily some of the developers were there when I was streaming the game and told me that they will fix these issues :). What really makes or breaks a platformer is of course the gameplay, the physics, and the responsiveness of the character. Well, in my own experience, I had no trouble whatsoever. These were all done nicely. The story is funny on it's own and so are the characters (funny as in actually funny, not annoying!). Of course, I almost forgot the music/sound. The music is great and fits in the levels you play through. Overall, I highly recommend this game! It's made with love from the developers and seeing the comments I received in my chat when I was streaming it, they really love working on the game (and continue working on it from what I've heard!) :).

Clear and concise play style with progressively more difficult puzzles that my kids and I really enjoy.
