About Before The Last Hour
Time is no more, your world is frozen in a perpetual agony a moment before its end. You wake up in this desolate land, where most of the inhabitants are consumed by the Oblivion. An affliction that gradually erases their memories and personalities, turning them into empty shells, eternally condemned to wander aimlessly. It is up to you to meet the challenges of this world and find the origin of this apocalypse and, perhaps, bring it to an end.
You are the last adventurer in this land devastated by the end of the world and oblivion. Armed with a gauntlet that allows you to manipulate the continuum, an energy that permeates your entire world, you must find the origin of the end of time. Before the Last Hour is a roguelike, offering both rpg and deck builder components. Explore the wastelands, defeat ever more powerful and epic enemies to finally give your world the ending it has been waiting for.

Explore and equip yourself - Find and combine over 100 unique items to choose from to create a unique and powerful build. Upgrade and use unique weapons with over 60 different abilities to keep your adventures fresh.
Combine your cards - Use the cards you are given in combination with other cards and items for more powerful effects. With a 3-card combo system you'll have to think before you act to maximize your turns.
Fight unique monsters - Every battle for survival will be a challenge as the ancient monsters of the legends try to survive just like you. Fight unique and beautifully animated creatures in traditional 2D.

Traditional 2D animation - The graphics department has redoubled its efforts to produce hand-drawn animations and sets in traditional 2D animation, all served by an original art direction.

Thanks to a codex system allowing you to unlock new items, starting gifts and difficulty levels, each replay will bring you a lot of novelties to make your games more different and surprising.

Game ceased updates in 2022 and is horribly unfinished, what's there is *functional* but so much is missing. do not purchase if you want a balanced, polished, finished game.8 found this helpful

EDIT: Below is the review I had 2 years ago about this. The developers have abandoned this game and vanished completely, while they're sitting playing other video games. Pathetic how this turned out. I knew one of the developers personally and they have even ghosted further communication in real life. OLD REVIEW: This game turns the idea of slay the spire and makes it into a genre thats absolutely amazing. Yes it is still in early access, and there may be small text bugs/ect, but it does not outshine what this game will become once they are done making it. fantastic job with this project guys. Pros: amazing strategy in the card system, very good story, great world immersion, and the difficulty for the game is for sure high in my opinion which is a plus for me, for some it may be a con. Cons: It is in early access, so I know there may be small bugs here and there. Small QoL changes but it really isnt a chase away factor.2 found this helpful
I'm sorry, but no. Not for 25 effin' dollars in an EA. I've already ran into two game-breaking bugs (both involving the shop). Everything is EXTREMELY glitchy, I've had one crash. The shop is a complete sh*t show. So many glitches/menu errors. Honestly too: the loot system is rather bunk. You should not be able to "lose loot quality" based on a damned coin toss. Mission are NOT worth doing. There only seem to be about 5 enemies (not including the 4 or so bosses) (beast looks just like one of them) After 4 runs.. I've seem maybe 2/3 different cards from the base ones. Some artifacts don't work correctly or if you buy something.. sometimes it never appears in your inventory. Many things are in french in random places, which is fine for the most part. Where it is not fine is when it applies to cards/skills/passive/explanations - I have no idea what multiple things do. The codex (THE CODEX) doesn't explain any status effects/buffs. Oh joy. The loading times can be odd and excessive, most especially seen before/after battles and the initial start up. Some people can't even play now due to startup issues. I had to uninstall it twice, and move the EXE before I could get it to work. …2 found this helpful
Game won't even start. Start menu is bugged. Sad because the game looks great in trailers and I wish I could actually play it.1 found this helpful
One of the best games ive played in quite a while. Took me 10h to beat all 3 difficulties. For everyone struggling a few tips: The most important stat is power. after that comes penetration. If you are advanced you can look into stunlock w tankiness or triple spell cast builds or the easiest one: multiattacks. but for newer players id just recommend going for high power and penetration and spamming one combo and keeping your deck at 20 cards. also forgot to mention: dont go above 4 risk if you cant immediately go down to 4 again and try to get loot quality to around 7-10 before doing the map event. you get a guarenteed risk factor down or up by killing an enemy as well as reducing the risk factor by 1 by beating it as well. and you can get it through random tile events. if the beast attacks you you are gonna lose 1 loot quality so definetly try to stall it as long as possible and use your jumps to avoid it. also always fully heal at shops its incredibly cheap and always take money over healing as rewards.
