The Last Hex

This is a pretty basic card adventure game, so if you're expecting something nuanced or complex, you'll be greatly disappointed. Your character starts out on the left side of a long hex-based map, encountering progressively move powerful monsters as you proceed to the right hand side of the map where you'll battle the game's final boss. Along the way you'll find a few towns and treasure locations. The game has a large number of cards, however, nearly all of them fall into three categories - 1) add armor to the character/monster, 2) inflict damage point on the enemy, 3) heal or deflect. There are a few cards that do other things, but play primarily involves the above three card types. Monsters aren't too inspired either, with the exception of a few creatures, most have little to differentiate themselves from each other outside of hit points and the ability to inflict damage. Also, I'd add, there's a ridiculously huge leap between the difficulty between the most powerful monsters you'll encounter and the final boss. Some of the reviews are devastating and I almost avoided the game, but got it due to a deep discount. This game is actually quite entertaining. Sure it isn't as expansive as say, Spire, but... I was able to build and win with multiple playstyles so far. I have won as a poison/regen rogue, an debuff/tank warrior, and surprisingly a life steal / heavy armor wizard where I am able to get my shield up super high then sacrifice it to one hit kill enemies. Will eventually see what I can do with bleed, fire, ice.

Perhaps a little lacking in polish of the details and you'll unlock everything way before you've completed a fraction of the different modes and challenges, but it's really fun. Give it a go!

I moderately liked it at first. Then I realized it's crap. More I played, crappier it got. Buy it only if it's on a HUGE sale.

Long long journey on the same maps with the same cards and the same (some) characters, and with the same sound effects. Avarage, playable card game. it is good for a sleeping pill too.
