Bermuda Survivor offers a fresh take on the bullet heaven genre. While your main goal is to stay alive and vanquish swarms of enemies, there will also be time for a rather calm exploration, solving lore riddles, and gathering various resources.Unlock multiple abilities and weapons as you progress. Melee or ranged, choose what suits you best: deadly katanas, bats, revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and many more await. Explore various synergies and craft powerful combos to fend off powerful bosses and defeat the hordes even faster. I had a blast with this game and I think it does a few things that other games in the ballpark don't. And we have seen this "kill waves upon waves of enemies-level up-work your way towards strengthening your build" formula done a gazillion, trillion times in recent memory. Bermuda Survivor doesn’t do anything extraordinarily different and there are many games out there that do that formula better. But the reason I liked Bermuda Survivor better than those other games, the reason why I couldn't put it down until I finoished it and farmed almost all the achievements, is that it nails two things that are very important to me: 1st the feeling of adventure and 2nd the discovery/figuring out aspect of the game. Rather than being confined to an area and being swarmed by endless waves of monsters. You have quests that you need to complete, and this requires you to venture forth, clear the fog of war, find people who give you vague clues about what to do next and where to go. Your goal is to find every remaining survivor and that entails finding your way around the island, figuring out puzzles, participating in trials given to you by people who are purposefully vague in their expl…1 found this helpful
A fun, short and simple game worth your time. I like the progression built into learning the map and unlocking upgrade spots which persist between runs. It feels good to remember the right path to get a lot of upgrades quickly. Persistent map also means there's a hard limit to playtime which is nice -- it feels healthy, you know? Especially given the genre of Vampire Survivor-like, which would otherwise suck your time away like a black hole. I am a little disappointed that you can't unlock Eve, the character on most of the promotional artwork, as an unlockable character - seems like they swapped her out for the diver guy after the demo. I was expecting the timer to play a bigger role, but all it does is cap the length of each run and force a restart. I started the game expecting that in order to stand a chance against the final boss, you'd have to do a "perfect run", eg: start at the beginning of the map, and hit as many upgrade spots as you can while you race to the final boss, all under the time limit. Turns out that wasn't needed at all. I think it's a missed opportunity, though a sequel could make use of that potential.1 found this helpful

an absolute steal for a buck. one of the freshest takes on the genre I have played, I have played alot of survivor types!
