"Shadowbyte Survivors" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Vampire Survivors (Copyright Poncle, 2023). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "Shadowbyte Survivors" is considerably worse than Vampire Survivors. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on.…1 found this helpful

Broken F2P Roguelike isometric survival shooter. Decent in idea, but sadly the execution isnt great. Seems like a guy wanted to do something but quit trying at some point, sad. Its free though. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
