BIT.TRIP RERUNNER

Easily the best BIT.TRIP RUNNER game yet. The gameplay is just as good as in the original RUNNER and Runner2. Plus, the easy-to-use level editor and community levels add a LOT of replay value to the game. (Also, stop comparing these games to Geometry Dash😭)

I am a huge Runner 2 fan, in my opinion the best auto runner game of all time. I played thru Runner 3 a few years ago, it was also good (not as good as Runner 2) but still a good game. Then I kind of lost track of this studio's games. But after I introduced my son to Runner 2, I noticed that they released a new remake of the original BitTrip Runner game, and so I dived right into this game - BitTrip Rerunner. It isnt quite as good as Runner 2, but it is very close. The level design and character movement felt very close to Runner 2. I just didnt like that you couldnt unlock and characters in Rerunner. One of my favourite aspects of Runner 2 and Runner 3 is all the characters and skins you can unlock. In Rerunner, you only play as the classic Commander Video. However, that is only a small gripe. I played thru the whole game and all of the bonus levels on my Steam Deck without any issues. Overall, if you are looking to get back into playing a great auto runner game, you cant go wrong with BitTrip Rerunner. Now, how about Runner 4???

I am playing this right after Runner3 and I feel like i am back home. The gameplay, the music, the difficulty all perfect. Loved every minute of it. They remade the 1st game in Unreal Engine, with some tweaks and new mechanics which are references to their other games in the Bit.Trip. The main story is a remix of the first game, but wait there is more ! After you finish the main story, you can unlock the ORIGINAL levels with the retro levels included, all remastered in the new graphics and gameplay - it was such a joy to replay the again. Also we have addition episodes with levels which include music from Runner 2 & 3, and other games in the Bit.Trip. Lastly we have a level editor similar to Mario Maker, and you can make your own levels or if you are like me just enjoy other players levels. Really, really good game. Recommended if you have not tried Bit.Trip.Runner and dont know where to start.

This is a faithful remaster of the original BIT.TRIP.RUNNER with much better versione of background visuals, and cutscenes! This version also added "Runner Maker", which allows players to create and play user generated levels, just like in Super Mario Maker.

Best soundtrack in the series

Fun game capturing the essense of the previous Bit Trip games, but it loses some of the cutesy silly charm for a slightly more serious theme. The level editor has potential for a lot of new creations similar to Mario Maker. Some obstacles were a bit difficult to actually judge the hit boxes of. I enjoyed it but I enjoyed the other entries more.
