This is a fun, relaxing VR competitive experience. The game is easy to understand, and there are instructions for new players. The physics in the game of throwing the balls works really well. It's part of the total package that makes you feel like you are on a tropical island playing bocce ball. I recommend it.

I like Bocce Beach, but I hoped by now there would be a few improvements. I know my computer could handle a higher level of detail. It would be really nice to be able to change the resolution, super-sampling and such. But more importantly, though I like the physics and the way the balls have a metallic polish and emanate a bit of a glow, there needs to be multiple levels of A.I. skill. I can beat the current and only CPU competitor every time. I'd like to have more of a reason to play it, since a guaranteed win is expected every time, it takes the sport out of it. Multiple A.I. difficulties, several different environments and the option to change ball colors and the ability to change the resolution and it would be incredible. Right now it is good, but a bit blurry and too easy to beat.

Bocce Beach, developed by Funly, LLC and published by My Way Games, takes the timeless game of bocce and translates it into a virtual reality setting, swapping grassy courts for a sunny stretch of sand. The premise is straightforward and immediately familiar to anyone who has played the real-world sport: toss your bocce balls as close as possible to the target while competing against either AI or human opponents. What makes this game unique is the way it attempts to capture the laid-back, social atmosphere of a beachside match, with VR immersion and lighthearted presentation forming the backbone of the experience. The controls are built around VR motion mechanics, making each throw a physical act of aiming, drawing back, and releasing. This lends the game an accessible learning curve, since the basic actions mirror what players would do in real life. While bocce is not a sport that requires complex systems, the transition into VR works well because the act of tossing a ball feels natural and intuitive. The beach environment helps by providing clear depth cues such as shadows and textures in the sand, making it easier to judge distances and angles. The addition of sports-style comm…

This is a fun game. It's only 4 dollars, so don't expect too much. I have an actual bocce set here that we've never used. After playing this, I'm going to set up a family game in the backyard!

Just what I love in a game, simplicity and endless replay value. The graphics could be improved but the game plays great!
