Bouncy Weapons

BAH. Frustrating, and weak compared to just about anything else in the genre. The design is the core problem: there are no real build decisions, because you have to max out every tree to reach the end anyway. So it's not a build game, it's a chore list. The ring mechanic is outright broken. Upgrading a ring can break it, and each repair attempt costs progressively more... I finished the game with a broken ring because fixing it became too tedious and expensive to bother with. Go play The Gnorp Apologue instead 🙂

The first 20 minutes can be fun if you like the genre. Then it starts to fall off. Like if the oceans were emptied and we were falling into the Mariana's Trench. After enduring it in it's current iteration? This game sucks. Hard. Loudly. Hauntingly. Your audio choices to NOT hear this game don't mater as you WILL have to hear crackling/bouncing of weapons/lightning regardless of your turning the audio to zero.... Were that the only issue? Game could be -ok-. Gold per monster killed... The scaling is garbage. The change from active to passive (idle) play is "meh" at best. Most additional skills and weapon upgrades feel completely meaningless because the true star is upgrading damage AND EVEN THEN you have to grind for piss poor upgrades until the final node granting 1.3x your current damage. You can (and should) finish the game without messing with a handful of nodes from the skill tree because the skill tree design is awful. I got this game as part of a pack. In my opinion, there's no reason to buy this game. It's bad. Even on sale. You should pass. Then after you pass it the first time, pass it again.

The game is a disgrace, the scaling is broken, you can keep buying talents on weapons that have nothing left to level up.

I wish there was a "Mid" rating. The game functions. The sound is inoffensive. The idea works. It is a standard number goes up incremental game. the mechanics are dull. There are some UI issues. Its -exceptionally- grindy. Will it occupy you? Yes. Will it be you favorite anything? Never.

Bouncy Weapons takes a straightforward arcade concept and builds an incremental progression game around the pleasure of watching an increasingly powerful collection of weapons wreak havoc inside an enclosed battlefield. A brief with the hover mechanic combined with wall bouncing I enjoyed the concept, But endgame was a minor slog and I was expecting a little more progression from the language in the game.
